So sorry to hear about the change in circumstances - and I completely understand the therapeutic value of resetting your space, taking control of the controllable.

Newly single, I can relate sweetie. I went through the same thing about 25 years ago when my girls were little. Hang in there; brighter times await. Don’t lose YOU in the chaos; you deserve attention and happiness.

I cleaned out my teacher area this summer as well (because I'm changing classrooms and grade levels)... and it was totally overwhelming! I ended up leaving a mess for like 2 weeks before I was able to just buckle down and get it done. I had so much stuff in such a small area! It feels so good to be done!

Lol, you’re fun! I also feel you…. I’m an art teacher and I rearrange things all the time to find what works best. We’re a little past the middle of the year right now and I’m rearranging my room because certain areas, like our painting station, isn’t functioning the best for us right now. #struggleforanorganized/functionalclassroomisreal

Rewatching this in the new year as I declutter my apartment before moving. Also may or may not be procrastinating doing homework (I went back to school this semester after taking a few years off to finish my high school teaching degree).

Sending a lot of love for your life update! IDK why, but sometimes my teacher area seems like the most stressful place to organize in the room. I'm not even at mine that often, but I am REALLY picky about it. Haha! Loving seeing all the progress!

Hi!! Firstly, keep doing the things you love. I loved classroom setup. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Your enthusiasm will engage kids 😊 Secondly, I’ve rewatched a few times… what has history done?! I could only see the first line of your tshirt and now I need to know!!!

Love your attitude!! “Just do the things” need to make this my phrase for the year!! I teach 6th grade in Montebello not to far from you but I need to clean my file cabinets because I teach Dual Immersion(Spanish) and still have files from when I was self contained!!😬

The room is looking good so far! I wish we as teachers didn't have to buy so much of our own supplies, though. Unless your district sprang for standing desks for everyone? I'm both trying and not trying to think about my classroom. It's being used for a summer program, so I can't do anything in it right now. But I know I'll be bouncing to get back inside when work week starts.

10:29 Senior Prank? LOL, yeah that is a lot of change and I know what you mean by ideas and not knowing what to do. 10:45, that is nice, my High School charged almost $5.00 for lunch, and I didn't qualify for free-reduced lunch.

Same! Do they help you with grading? Also, talk to your tech person about getting a Vivi setup . It allows you to use your laptop and not be tethered to your desk. I have a standing desk on wheels and it allows me to go all over my classroom while using my computer and projector. Highly recommend!

I swear nothing has caused more problems for me in my life than my inability to say no or turn people down. Soft and empathic nature costs you a lot.
