6:57 I know that it was part of Ancient Greek funerals to put a coin on the dead person so that they can pay the ferry man to get to the underworld, but I have to ask WHY as it brings up the question of: What does a ferry man for the UNDERWORLD need with money?? WHAT is he gunna spend it on?? Does he have bills to pay off? Is he saving up for a new TV? What does he do with all that money he has? WHERE does he keep it, is there a TD Bank in the underworld? Irrelevant, but I had to ask.

@PheonixxHearts the amount of seeds has never actually been determined in the original pericopae's - which is why the amount of time is different in every story - this is because it's an aitia or origin myth for seasons - seasons are different everywhere and thus allows the story to be adapted. Usually the time Persephone spends in the Underworld is anything from 3-6 months.

You'd be right, I just was told Demeter was the goddess of the earth, it was a distorted fact then. I do know that the transition into fall and winter is when Demeter weeps. I think it was a fair misinterpretation on my part.

This came out December 31, 2005, a few months AFTER Percy was first released. Besides, the only connection they have are the gods and the fact that Kronos is the main enemy. These heroes are mortals, while PJATO is focused mainly on modern demigods.

@tigerlover124 dude, that kind of logic would apply to any god. all the major gods are Poseidon's siblings (ie. Zeus, Hera, Hades, Demeter, etc.) all other gods are pretty much sons and daughters of these gods.

Would aphrodite be a titan in a sense? One myth I've read was that when gaea had cronos cut up his father, uranus, and throw the pieces into the sea, aphrodite was born from his blood and the sea foam (which is also why her animal is the dolphin i believe) (totally random, but i was curious)
