20 Things to Do, See and Eat in Houston, TX | 3 Solo Nights in Texas

On January 1st, 2021 I flew to Houston, Texas alone.
I chose to fly solo to Houston because:
1. My friend invited me to stay with her. 🤗
2. I never visited Texas before. 🤩
3. The weather is better there than in New York. 😂
4. My favorite actress/singer as a child, Hilary Duff, was born there. 😎
5. When I did some research, I realized the lazy river at the Marriott Marquis Houston was super cool that I would regret not staying there before I stay with my friend. 🤙
Things added up so I thought this was was the perfect destination to begin the New Year (and spend my birthday)! 🥳
My first 3 nights were solo (stayed at the Marriott Marquis Houston by myself) and the last 3 nights were spent with my friend at her house! In this video, I am only showing things to do in Houston while I was solo. However, my friend did join me in my adventures a little. It's the best of both worlds.

I personally thought that this video was great the way you made it very informative with the subtitles and the virtual map of places you went. I really liked the overview of the city by the George Bush monument. I have seen other videos of Houston and they have missed this view point. I also like that you take breaks from recording and you soak up the trip your not recording every little step you take. The music you chose for the places you go also go well with your video. No negative feed back from my end. I’m also a solo traveler but I don’t think I can go with a camera recording everywhere I go. I do take a lot of pictures and post them on my Instagram that’s about it. Keep up the great work. I still have to see the rest of your videos and I know I won’t be disappointed.

Houston is big city and has alot to see i live here and just about every other week we allways have events all through the city no matter the time of day just gotta be careful are city has gotten a little to wild when it comes to people getting shot late night partying thru midtown houston.

Amazing video! Did you find people wearing masks everywhere like in NY ? I heard they aren’t following the guidelines of wearing masks in public places. How was the hotel in that regard?

Thank you so much!! 🤗 Yes I was quite pleased with how it was in Houston. It was nice to see how it looks when a city is mostly “open” in terms of dining and activities, while still having the necessary precautions (masks, hand sanitizers, distancing, clear barriers). I was also so happy to be in the sun without gloves, hat, and scarf. Specifically about my hotel - everyone I saw wore masks, clear barriers at the checking desk and there’s hand sanitizers around. The only thing to note was the amount of people in the hot tub on one of the nights I was there. I avoided that area of course. But besides that, there was good social distancing. Have you traveled anywhere recently? 😊

I am glad you enjoyed it there. I was expecting from what I am hearing that many people aren’t wearing masks but I guess that might have changed given the numbers of people got infected. I was supposed to be there for business but I didn’t want to take risk ☺️. It’s nice though that they still can use hot tubs outdoor this time of year😉
