There is no need for any of them to “take her in.” A dower house isn’t an “old age home.” It’s the house/property the widow (aka a dowager) is promised at marriage for after the death of the husband. (Remember this is primarily for royalty/nobles who own multiple homes and properties and each has staff that maintains it.) It’s tradition for the dowager to move into a dower house so that the new title owner-in this case, Viscountess Bridgerton which is now Kate-can officially take over the role of managing the household (the family and the house’s staff). As Viscount Bridgerton, Anthony is head of the estate and the family. So technically he’s legally responsible, but that just means he’s in charge of financials-paying whomever to staff Violet’s dower house.

0:46 The penultimate question: I can see this. I loved that he gave his mother a gift from his travels. Anthony also returned from abroad but it doesn’t seem like he brought back any souvenirs lol. It’s kinda sad that their relationship is still so strained. She did say she was sorry and she really was doing her best. Of course she’s doing everything she can to delay her move. He of all people should know how difficult it must be for her to pack up and leave their family home after all that’s happened. He could’ve let Kate know about some of his memories (season 2 flashback scenes) and taken a more compassionate approach. Fortunately, Kate sees the benefit for all of them lol. I also think that Violet wants to be near Francesca since they’ve spent a great deal of time apart. She only has one daughter left after her, and again based on the season 2 flashback scenes, she may not feel affection in the same way for her given the tragic circumstances associated with her existence. In fact, I think that could be what Anthony is most upset with Violet about… he probably always feared for her state of mind and worried that she could hurt herself and/or Hyacinth. Postpartum psychosis is real. 💔 She hasn’t apologized for saying what she said, probably doesn’t remember saying it but he does so I suppose there’ll always be friction… unless he brings it up and they have a conversation… but then she may not be sorry because that’s how she felt at the time… and sorry doesn’t change the past so he may still be bitter… which is fair all around. 😬🤷‍♀️

This book storyline is about as dead as they could make it. Unless she suddenly starts writing in the second half of the season it would make 0 sense at all. It already makes 0 sense since 1. They aren’t friends so that original sadness over being left as a spinster has been taken away 2. She’s not seen writing at all so her story building hasn’t started to move to Philip 3. Benedict and Sophie end up being a pretty big part of her story being the only siblings close to Eloise and to finish it off 4. The creators have been heavily hinting on a queer storyline which if they want to keep the OG partners, does need time to play out and will most likely be Eloise.
