IDK what grade this is but in my track meets, there was this really fast 8th grader named Kevin Curry, and he had a late 7 minute time and around 4:50 for his mile. He was always like 200 meters ahead of the 2nd place every race and he got new records for the district. Probably going to the Olympics.
@DrReddit6 жыл бұрын
I know seventh graders that get 4:30-4:20 lol. It's gonna take a lot more work to get into olympics, fast times doesn't mean you can get into olympics.
@Yonaseen6 жыл бұрын
You personally know SEVENTH GRADERS that get THOSE times?!?! Dude that's crazy I know some Mexican guy at my church that did the mile and he got a 4:45 in 8th grade, 4:30 in high school, got a full scholarship because of his running, and got a 4:15 in college. I don't know about 7th graders getting such good times.
@DrReddit6 жыл бұрын
Yea I know them personally but what's surprising is that most of them are girls. They probably get those times because they go to a LOAD of clubs for instance SRLA, Volley Ball, Soccer, Football, Basketball, etc. All require you to run until you can't anymore. And then the sport training comes along. And all of the seventh grade runners I know are Mexican too lol. I guess genetics.
@Yonaseen6 жыл бұрын
Okay I'm sorry but now I'm REALLY doubting you. First of all, the WR for women is 4:12, only 8 seconds faster than that 4:20. Second of all, the mile for 7th grade girls you are talking about is 20 seconds faster than Claudia Lane in this video, and I'm preeettty sure the event Claudia just raced in is national level or at least college level. (X) Doubt

Emil Zatopek would never win on style points either. It her leg action that is disturbing. Indicating both a lack of flexibility and strength leading to a low knee lift and a finishing kick. Her future is over longer distances, if she survives female development, aka Mary Kane. You cannot overcome genetics and estrogen will always win. Running is part of life not the only purpose in life. Enjoy it while it last and get that scholarship.
