At first there was an attack where white would take the bishop at f5 sacrificing the rook, so he moved the bishop, then an attack with pawn xf7 so defended it, then a threat to push the pawn to e7 and then Qe6 check, so moved the rook to take at e7 with it so no queen check. Also it's an important bishop, and if the rook moved the c3 pawn falls, so not that good of a trade.

Yea Judit was top ten in world 4 long time
@Pfefferhaubitze5 ай бұрын
Judit was Number 8 in the world 20 years ago (2004). For a long time she was the youngest Grandmaster ever. She beat nearly all World Chess champions, who played at her time - including Kasaparov, Anand and Carlsen. There were nice games with Alexej Shirov, where she outcalculated the 2nd magican of Riga and won very tactical games. Same with Anand. At the beginning of her carreer she had the problem, that she couln't always start in mens tournaments, now known as open tournaments. This may have slowed down her development a bit, not to compete against the strongest opponents. Otherwise she would probably have made it even further than 8th place on the Fide rating list. I'm not completely informed, but the next best place of a female chess player I know is place 49 (historical Elo list). This is Vera Menchik, Czech World Champion with the famous Vera Menchik club. She was killed by a V-1 in London, WW2/1944. At the moment there is no women in the Fide top 100.

At 4:47the street hustler lost the game...he should have played rook F2...then play knight F7, then queen G5....then rook takes pawn F5...he would have had a great positional advantage....he threw away the game building behind the pawn

I didn’t understand this part. I’m a new chess player. Why didn’t he take the rook with the king there?

@@jordanmahoney4085 Nice ploy to try to pretend he made a mistake since Paul was down on time, and he was saying it out loud to hope that it would bait Paul into instantly taking his rook and then setting up for the loss of the queen on the next move... which is why he laughed since they both saw that tactic and it didn't work.

Can someone explain why he shouldn't take the rook at @9:22?
@renenowotny-wo5hl3 ай бұрын
Because he could then check with the bishop leading to his queen being open and he could take the queen for it
