I'm so excited to see this! I'm in Swanage on holiday atm and discovered that Funworld is eClaws only now, didn't realise Playland still had the Megas! I will make sure to go and have a spin on them before our trip is up, they were my childhood too!! ❤️

33:13 I have definitely heard “oh no try it again” coming from a topper intermittently before as well. This might be a long shot, but I also have a vague memory of a ‘Lucky crane’(?) ‘Good lucky crane’ (?) having the phrase after your credits run out. Just thought it was worth a mention and apologies if misremembering.

@@Pinkaspie oh wow really? See I’m not sure cause I haven’t ever played a lucky crane and if I did, it would have been when I was really little at Hayling Island. I would like to find out why this is, maybe a chip swap from lucky crane to eurograb box but I wouldn’t have thought that would work?

@@MrMegaCrane I put some research into it, the machine I was thinking about was simply called ‘Good luck’ from 1982 (learnt from the history section of elaut’s website), was almost there with the name, haha. Funnily enough I have not actually come across any videos with good luck claw machines that have the machines with sound so can’t confirm the original theory. I googled ‘claw machine “oh no try it again” ‘ there was only one result that was a forum that also had the same question as they were fixing a topper, no reply to the question. I’ve come to the conclusion that the “Oh no try it again” has perhaps, always been in the topper, and it’s actually a code for the operator to come check the machine! The Mega that had the topper functions probably said that as often as it did as the Mega installation seemed foreign to it. It seldom does it otherwise. You could probably make a topper say it more frequently if the glass cabinet is slightly open, at least, in theory. (Oh no, forgot to shut it again?) Unusual hybrid find that Mega and really great to have seen you play on it to be honest!

@@Pinkaspie it’s definitely strange. The ‘oh no try it again’ is definitely coming in as the machines attraction mode instead of the standard Jungle book one. I would assume one chip change but definitely can’t be from a good luck I don’t think as they originally didn’t have any sound whatsoever. I will have to look into it more cause it has intrigued me, thank you for your input though, if you find out anymore to this mystery, keep in touch :)

@@MrMegaCrane haha… well would you believe we’ve been mistaken this whole time about that Mega having Topper functions? Turns out, it’s not Topper! It’s too low pitched to be a topper! I can confirm this! The sounds are in fact, from a ‘Big choice’ claw machine! (Not Betsons) It looks very similar to a Good luck, with different decor! My original idea was onto something after all! However, I have not found any footage or information about the attract mode for Big choice… also appears to be American only as I’ve not come across any U.K/europe videos about it. I will definitely keep you informed of anything else until we get to the bottom of this! :-D

@@Pinkaspie are you sure. The Topper eurograb boxes all have slightly different pitched movement sounds. Mine is different from the typical one you hear in arcades as it’s a slightly newer box. The pitch is completely different. If you find a link to the machine u are talking about on KZbin, drop it here, would love to listen

@@douglascovey960 I’ve seen industrial lights used and also LED strips behind the marquee. The mega crane was made in 96 (blue being 96) and pink being done in 97. Is it a single player you have? Would love to see it

I still find it so upsetting that all the claws got replaced. Im glad some still remain but they defiantly arent the same anymore. The ones that are usually good when I go are the stitches, rabbits, reversible marvel plush, octopus plush, and sometimes the how to train your dragons. Ive won a few out the reversible marvel plush and its the only claw I really play there now. I rarely go down there anymore though. I went down a few times before I watched your videos but after I started watching your videos I went down there all the time and I loved it. I wont lie I am upset that going down there is pretty much over so soon. The eclaws arent good yes 😅 the odd one is set well but half the time the settings arent great or the machines are broken. I dont know much about claw machines and their settings but Ive played better ones at other arcades for sure. People rarely ever seem to win which is expected but I have won a few plush out of them at least. Hoping I can find another arcade to visit and enjoy.

@@specialhammy1591 I also rarely visit now. This must have been my first time since the last video and my word these are set so bad it’s almost unbelievable with knowing how they once were. These will not last long I do not think, they’re just filling in until Funworld makes enough profit to replace these with eclaws as well. A shame with no originality, arcades overall are going down hill and it’s been very apparent since I’ve started this channel. Torquay golden palms is amazing if that’s not too far but believe he’s scrapped the toppers

@@MrMegaCrane sorry it took me forever to reply this but yes it is all such a shame and I also dont think they will stay for to much longer. Ive been wanting to go to Bournemouth again for a little while now. Yes I went to torquay golden palms after your video it was great^^ we used to have a caravan down that way but we never knew it was there until you shared it but unfortunately we had to get rid of the caravan now but we have still been wanting to take a trip down there again. Im hoping to find more hello kitty plush Ive been growing a collection from claw machines recently 😆 Any claw that has them in I have to try so thats my only plus to swangae now since they have a few hello kittys 😅
