our carnival used to have about 30 of those old crain claws, the prizes were little pocket knives, mini cards, lighters and tops. then there was a red heavy washer that gave you the choice if you picked it up. a tornado came through town and hit the carnival and they were all destroyed. they were over 100 years old when I was a kid. they ran off of just the handle you rurned no electric at all.

In the town I grew up in they have an annual town festival with traveling ride and game vendors. Every year they had these old style cranes with cheap zippo style lighters and other cheap prizes. They also would bring the older style coin dozer machines.
