One of the things I learned when I visited Australia is that using kayak in open ocean or croc/gator infested area is a big NOPE for ME. I was fishing with my friends and there was someone on a kayak who's also fishing but a bit further. After a few minutes, we saw him rushing towards the shore. We were confused at first but we were also worried cus he was pale asf. We realized that a huge salty(probably 13-16ft) was stalking him. We threw a rope in his direction and when he got close to it, he immediately grab it, tied it to his kayak, and we started pulling him.

The man in number 6 is quite fortunate. The shark likely heard the splash and simply approached him out of curiosity. It was still light out and the visibility helped the shark identify that the man wasn't food. Had it been dawn or dusk there would have been less visibility and the shark wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between him and its prey.

May I make a statement? I have never encountered a shark before but I have seen one. Here are some tips I’ve learned from my father and some people that know a lot about sharks. 1. If you encounter a shark in proximity of you, do not start to freak out. Stand/stay where you are and stay calm. It is an uncommon experience to encounter one and you have seen a shark. 2. Most sharks such as a reef shark or a nurse shark are not as dangerous. It is a rare chance they attack. If they do attack, you have to be messing with them or doing something to annoy them.

Random note for everyone when you start panicking and swimming away abruptly. The shark will assume you know what it is and that you’re prey so they’re more likely to bite you. The best bet is to swim away calmly without splashing around too much. That isn’t a 100% guarantee you’ll be fine cause if it’s curious enough about you they’ll take a bite to figure you out. Fun fact most of the time a shark doesn’t think you’re a seal or anything. It legitimately is confused and take a bite to quell their confusion. If you want more about it I’ll respond because this post is getting longer than I initially wanted it to be.
@lolsmileyface62462 жыл бұрын
Before I leave none of this is a guarantee they’re like humans and they’ll do what they want or please no matter the circumstance. Just know that if it’s a tiger or bull shark you’re legit shit out of luck cause they’re assholes. They do what they want when they please. So like save yourself however you see fit with dealing with those two asshats. Great whites are actually pretty calm and cool. They’re often assumed to be the antagonist in shark attacks because thats the one shark that is known by people. I’m legit convinced more people have been attack by a bull or tiger but they just don’t know the physical differences.

I just cannot understand people. Someone records a curious shark swimming in the sea, and everyone in the comment thinks the shark is attacking. in #3 he says " ended up fighting for their life". No... They didn't fight for their life...the shark was just curious. in all of the videos. Would not you be, if you were a shark? Edit: ok, so let me explain what i mean: Most Sharks ARE killer machines, designed to kill fast, BUT, that does not mean they will kill, if they just see you swimming. Sharks are highly intelligent and therefore also curious. And by the way, i have proof that neither of the sharks in these videos were out to kill. As i said, Sharks are killing machines, and if they would want to arm any of the humans, they would easily have done it without hesitation, but they didn't, bc they did not have a reason to attac.

Sharks usually only attack if provoked or agitated, like any other animal. 2. Sharks can’t eat humans because, it would give them indigestion. They also find our blood too salty and full of fat. 3. Sharks usually use their mouths to investigate things if they are curious (which makes sense considering they have no hands 🙌🏻). 4. Sharks have exceptional Smell and Eyesight so they can distinguish the difference between predator and prey. I love how at one point in the video he says “the shark was acting very suspicious” it literally lives in the ocean 🌊 it’s just living in its home and if anything some of these encounters are the humans fault not the sharks 🦈. Just to be clear if a shark does attempt to attack and the chances are EXTREMELY low, you are supposed to swim as calmly as possible back to shore which I know seems extremely challenging but flailing around makes the shark perceive you as it’s typical scared underwater prey and therefore it will attack again and again you show it your not weak. And if it does get close enough to bite you the minute it’s head gets close the safest move to make is to simply push its head into an opposite direction as sharks are not able to turn under water they have to physically swim away and make a U under water before coming back giving you time to swim away.

“Shark attack” meanwhile every single clip shows either spearfishing or fishing and literally every other big nono that a simple google search will tell you is exactly what attracts sharks and makes them predators
@suuzerd61512 жыл бұрын
none of these clips were too dangerous. Sharks are often just curious and most of the time do no harm if you aren't annoying them. People in this video are freaking out because of these kind of videos where sharks are framed as the bad guys. As a diver myself I've encountered them too, even dived like 30 mins in open sea with a shark circling around my group. bottom line: as long as you stay out of there way and don't annoy them, most of the times nothing will happen.

The first two only got dicey because the swimmers panicked. The reason the one in the last video was okay is because they remained calm. Most of the time, sharks are just curious and come over to check you out. Humans aren't exactly a reliable food source for them and most attacks happen because of swimmers panicking or low visibility.

If you're diving, don't box them in and they will go away. They are curious, they just want to check you our. Don't swim in murky stirred up water, they usually bite humans by accident. Unfortunately all of these fishing kayaks have taught them to associate kayaks with food, so that problem is not going away, but keep your feet in and be willing to let go of your fishing rod.

I loved the clip showing the couple helping the bull shark. Although they are one of the few types of sharks that actually attack humans, when I dived with them in Costa Rica, there has never been an attack against a human there because there is so much rich fish life -- and we would taste like untasty chicken or beef to them! :) It was truly awe-inspiring though, to lay on the ocean floor as a whole group of them circled around us -- curious but afraid by the weird bubbles our regulators were casting off into the ocean. The unfortunate part about this video is it perpetuates the unfortunate misconception that most sharks are dangerous to humans. Less than 5% actually are and most of these allegedly "terrifying" clips fail to identify if the shark that so freaked the swimmers out were even one of the dangerous ones. There are not, for example, any sharks dangerous to people in the Bahamas. And almost ALL shark attacks against humans occur when they mistake surfers for seals -- their standard meal!
@etiennerossouw69503 жыл бұрын
Coz when CNN interviewed a shark and asked them why they ate that ladies hip they confirmed they thought it was turkey. They said so, this is silly science guessing a predators thoughts if any. Like those people who have lost an arm to a shark attack, and then tell us...oooh it didnt mean to...uhm, yeah it did , you are in the water, a lot less mobile than any other creature in the sea, basically like a stack of burgers on the side walk full of homless people. Lol the poor misunderstood shark rofl!! Get out of here
@vinnyvtec87223 жыл бұрын
I think they're like humans or dogs, most of the time they're docile and just intrigued by us, but like dogs and humans, there's the 1% of them that will just attack because they want to, there's A-hole versions of all animals, it's just luck of the drawer I guess.

"Unfortunately the video ends there, and what happens next is not known." Well, considering the shark looked to be going for the fish he caught, and snagged part of the boat, we can assume that the man was eaten alive and this was posted by a nostalgic shark fondling remembering his first taste of long pork.
