Clay Lacy Learjet 24 N3137 Aerobatic Demonstration at 2014 Planes of Fame Air Show, Chino Airport

Recorded May 4, 2014 at the Planes of Fame Air Museums Airshow at Chino Airport in California. I shot some Video of Clay Lacy's 1966 Learjet 24 on Static Display, Engine Start-Up, Taxi & I got a couple shots of his Aerobatic Demonstration then taxied back in & Engine Shut Down.
Captured another Engine Start-Up & Taxi as he left to go back to Van Nuys Airport (I couldn't get video of him taking off they had all the Warbirds lined up in the way)
It's always a pleasure to see & talk to the now 81 year old Aviation Legend Clay Lacy & to see him at the controls of doing what he loves.
This Learjet 24 is painted up to look like "Special Ops Area 37"
It's a 1966 Learjet 24 N3137 / 37 (cn 24-123)

I was with Clay out of Van Nuys in the late sixties when he jumped a Nat. Guard F100 that was stooging along. We slid up behind him at thirty-five thousand and Clay went "tat tat tat" on the UHF and then broke right. The F100 broke left and went into burner and came around and ate us up while we tried to get out of Dodge. What a hoot!

He did a lot of Air to Air Photo work using Astro Vision for McDonnell Douglas during the 80's and 90's when i worked there.

As a kid I grew up flying on Lear Jets. Our family business has owned 5 over 30+ years. They are the coolest fucking things to fly in. Sadly the company was sold and with it went the last lear we owned, a 60. Good memories. Cool jets. Sad they are gone as an American company.

Hello David, I think the last time it flew was August 2015, I'm pretty sure Clay donated it to a museum. I am sure glad I got to see it flying in person & yes a true rocket ship for sure. Thank you for watching

Thanks so much for watching & for your nice comment. I don't have anything fancy, my wife & I use a Nikon Coolpix S9500 & we just got a replacement on a S9600 model thru Best Buy covered under the warranty & they gave us a new S9700 model. Looks like it might even be better but I haven't tried it yet.

this learjet24D is better than a cirrus jet all it needs is a ballistic parachute and it will be just perfect!! cirrus cant do spins and it cannot do barrel roles.
