Unfortunately yes haha there are some tricks to make it easier if the forces are parallel to the planes created by the basis vectors but for the most part you’re limited to taking the moment (via cross-product) of each force vector separately then adding them together as you mentioned.

at the summation about point A at 8:52, is the force Ay not included in the summation because we're taking it about point A?

Ay and Ax are just components of A and we were doing moment about point A and the components of A emerged from point A, i.e the distance is almost zero about A or its components

That would be the force * the perpendicular distance which is 0 at that point cause its on the point of reference.
