Thank you ! I have to admit, learning about this is fun. I'm an English guy, not a math one, but this makes perfect sense.

Great! Making "perfect sense" is what I'm looking to do :-)

Hey Clay, I am 13 years old and I started trading 3 months ago. I wanted to do something different this summer. I convinced my father to let me trade and he gave me $5,000 to trade with. In 3 months watching your live trades and taking your advices I have made that $5,000 to $15,000. I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the things that you do for the trading community. Next summer, I plan on buying one of your courses and get really deep in the markets. You are an amazing teacher and really inspirational to me. I really could not thank you enough. I think you might have just led me to what I am going to major in college. Please respond to me if you get this message.

Very cool. Glad to hear I could assist a bit in your journey. Just remember, making money is the easy part, "not losing it" is where the skill comes in :-)

I just finished my LS trading acct application, then saw this. Clay, in this and your other videos covering trading fees, you do the analysis using just one round trip trade. I think to make an impact, you have to show in $$$ dollars how these fees will impact the trader over a day/month/year etc. I started swing trading actively this year and noted today that my accumulated trading fees from E*T%@&e surpassed $900 YTD. I'm no day trader (yet). (Papertrading until I feel competent.) But if swing trades have amassed fees like this, imaging what the total would be day trading over a year? Techniques like scaling in and out of a trade would be seriously damaging. If you hit that buy and sell button just 10 times in one session, you'd have to over come being in the hole $100. If you traded like that for 250 days in a year, the total would be $25,000 in fees. So I ask you Clay, how many times in a day do you think you hit the buy/sell button? How much would you be spending then if you didn't use a discount broker? Thanks, Papabear | CTU (up 83% since joining CTU in June) (they key is to hold onto it)

great point and is very important for a new traders with less than 10,000 specially on small accounts. try trading out of a 3000 dollar account you will realize t he dfference those fees make in your wallet. and every dollar helps in a small account (Buying Power)

Well said, "every dollar helps" is certainly a truth.

good afternoon clay .. i have a quick question but how do u get the 0.001 per share in lightspeed i know thats the broker that you use but i need to trade 15 mil shares which is crazy for me i normally trade 200k to 300k a month so im just wondering bec i see u trading all the time and u don't trade much shares bec u trade higher priced stocks ...so do i need to call them and ask for a deal ...it would be nice if u get back to me with an answer ... thank u for all the hard work and amazing videos
@claytrader8 жыл бұрын
I pay $.0035 per share, not $.001.
@Henry-eb8dl8 жыл бұрын
+ClayTrader because in the other video that u shared you said u need to pay 0.0001 so I figured that's the rate you pay. thank you for getting back to me

When you report wins and losses net to the IRA, can you count commissions as losses? Im guessing no.
@claytrader8 жыл бұрын
No because the commissions are factored into the trade already.

Hey clay, I'm living in France, I purchased one of your course and I'm really putting a lot of effort to learn the art of trading. Have your ever traded on the European market ? Because I think that there are a little less opportunities (volatility, volume...) compared to the american stock market. However, the fees to trade on the european market are very attractive whereas fees to trade the american can be like 15$/trade (30$ in total) Do you think I should put more money on the line in order to cover the fees on the American market or should I try on the European ?
@claytrader8 жыл бұрын
I'd look into Interactive Brokers. Their fees aren't bad at all, AND they allow you to trade the American markets.

If trading cheap stock like SIRI 4$ and executing 10000 shares in one trade, with 10$ commission, I will pay 0.1 cent per share. Which is supper low. With IB I have to pay 100$ commission. So it all depends on stock quantity and price. That's why people with small accounts can't make money. Correct me if I'm wrong
@claytrader8 жыл бұрын
You are right in stock quantity and price, but not about small accounts. There are things such as this that exist: claytrader.com/videos/trade-penny-stocks-steroids/

Hey Clay, Can you please do analysis on FCX?
@claytrader8 жыл бұрын
How about I just teach you how to do your own analysis that you can be 100% confident in? Wouldn't you agree that'd be a much better long term skill to have?
@positiveshuttle8 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a good idea, but I cannot afford to pay for training at this time.

When I first signed up for a broker at age 18, I went with the loan-shark of a baby that charged 9.99, then last year I when I was making more swing picks and less long-term investments, I switched to another broker. Cut the commissions in half (4.99).... Couldn't be happier with the savings.... but, I just got an e-mail last month that my new broker was acquired by the original broker. Ha. Hope they don't raise their rates or I'm making another change

Thanks for sharing! That's some very "real" experience there that someone new can learn from.

What's up Clay, I do trade with TDAmeritrade, I'm more into options and yes I do think their pricing is ridiculous... I clicked on the link down below and one broker caught my attention but I don"t know much about them.. The broker is Just2trade.com have you used them before?? I like their pricing..
