This motherboard don't directly support the the Intel 7*00 series, you should take a board with the b250 or z270 chipset. Also a 550 or a 450w power-supply is more than enough for this application. And this graphics card is really old and just 512mb of gpu memory isn't enough to run multiple screens. Also the mini fan is very noisy. The memory channel for the processor is dual, so you always need to use ram-memory sticks in sets of 2.

Hey! I am new to this but interested in learning to day trade. I am watching through your trading 101 playlist and after that plant to invest in further education. However this video has come up and totally confused me, I have only started watching it but it feels like I would need a whole other course just to understand it. I was planning to just day trade from my average laptop, is that realistic? Because this whole computer set up seems very complex and expensive.

As a tech guy, this video is really hard to watch. You are clearly not very well versed in PC hardware since the GPU will have difficulty powering a 1080p monitor, the PSU is 750W, however, you won't ever need more than 450W. The motherboard isn't directly compatible with the CPU. You don't include a CPU cooler, and just looking at what you searched on Amazon tells me you don't have a clue what you're talking about. My advice is DO NOT PURCHASE AND BUILD THIS PC. For that money, you can get a way better setup.

I would like to add to your comment ..for me Not only are you not going to get the last bid like yes it hurts and I couldnt tell you how many times I had problems because of ram and my speed.. If you go to TD Ameritrade and look at the SPECS for the Think Or Swim platform ..It tells you what you need in order for your shit to work ok.. I have an old computer too so I am saying it will absolutely affect your trading. But like Nate says you dont have to go over board and I totally understood after I saw his video. I know that I suffered and couldnt get filled at certain prices and I know for a fact it did so hurt my trading.

what is the advantage of a video card verses just running 2 monitors off of the motherboard?
@itnate129
@itnate129 8 жыл бұрын
When using the motherboard for video it actually takes away from your system resources and isn't as efficient. A dedicated video card has its own graphics processor and RAM so it doesn't pull from any system resources and will perform much better. Also many motherboards only support 1 monitor so adding in a dedicated card might be the only way to get more monitors.

I used to game and build gaming rigs, and it's so hard for me to build a tower without going over $1300 lol. What's your advice on avoiding possible internet outages while trading? It seems like once every few months my internet will stop working and I'll have to do a hard reset on the modem for it to work again.
@jco7651
@jco7651 7 жыл бұрын
Always have a stop set on your trades so If the price begins to drop it will automatically take you out of the trade even if your internet drops out. As for avoiding the internet outages, make sure you have a wired connection and consider switching to a different internet provider. FiOS is the fastest and most reliable right now, but not available in all areas. Try and avoid satellite and hotspots as they have the largest tendency to have outages.

@jco7651 4 жыл бұрын
@@kevinxie7532 Anything with 8-16Gb of RAM should be fine. No chromebooks. Some brokers only support windows, so if you're on a Mac you may need a program like Parallels to allow you to run windows. You can really get by with the bare minimum if you're using a laptop without multiple screens connected.

I was going to reply about PC Part Picker. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of builds. I just used it once and it saved me tons of time, money, and aggravation that I used to experience when I did builds by the seat of my pants (even with a build sheet). It lets you save custom build lists that you can come back to and modify, and the list is sharable. It automatically checks compatibility!! That's huge. It also tallies wattage so you know what grade power supply you'll need. It shops across various vendors to find the best prices. What I ended up doing was going with their part recommendations, then purchasing on Amazon or Newegg as I didn't want to deal with unknown/sketchy vendors. pcpartpicker.com/

My current machine that is now six years old is starting to die, it was a monster in it's day but it is my belief the processor is the problem. I was debating between the AMD Ryzen 1800x and the INTEL 17-7700K as the processor. I run 6 monitors and two trading platforms. Would I be correct in understanding that what I use the computer for will not utilize the additional cores and threads? I know the Intel processor individual core speeds are superior to AMD just not sure if I would benefit from additional cores and threads? Thank you this was very helpful.
@claytrader
@claytrader 7 жыл бұрын
Both options for processors would be good choices. I haven't built any ryzen systems so I can speak to its practical functionality but on paper it certainly looks respectable. As for the multiple cores you should have no issues using up all of the cores. Its really going to depend on how the software is written but most modern software supports running across multiple cores.

Currently has 6x 36GB SAS HDD's (though I'm thinking of throwing in 1 (or 2 for RAID 1) SSD's and just use the rest for backups).
