I have the Mainstays Version of this fan, and when it came time to service the fan, it had so much dirt in it, that it didn't move any air at all. I watched this video, and Followed along, and I was able to get it working. Thanks for Posting, I'll refer to this video for servicing my fan, this video helped me out a lot!

Just wanted to say thanks... Have 2 of these exact fans that were all gunked up and pretty much non functional. After following your example they are now both running like Forrest Gump...

Glad you were able to get them going again with the help of the video.

Been a long time since i last seen a video by you lol. I will say this is a pretty neat little HV fan. I kinda wanna start collecting HV fans more

I put out a video every day! I've always liked these little HV fans, one of the first ones I remember having was the Lakewood HV-9..

These 9 inch HV fans always give out a very good breeze.

The AC powered ones are usually decent, there's less to be said about the DC ones.

I have one but its 2012 and compared to the 2003 lakewood hv9 fan, the living solutions is mediocre at best. Great video btw

Lakewood's HV-9 is truly impressive, I don't think there are any other fans that compare..

I had one of these too a loong time ago (before I bought the 2 Black&Decker pedestals, which eventually broke, that I mentioned to you before). Coincidentally, the one I had that was very similar to this one (floor model) was a Black & Decker too (that’s why I later bought those 2 B&D pedestals). The floor one was very good and never broke... but I moved and left it at my old apartment.

It was probably the same thing as this, I've seen these sold under countless different names.. This is definitely cheaply made, but it's not so cheap as to be worthless..

I fixed a fan or 2 and glad I saw this one because I didn't snap to the bearing wick on the 9in fan and took it apart 2 more times and got it working, I just need to diagnose the bigger one you did in another video, only problem is it doesn't turn on or motor hum when I turn it on. I'm going to clean it and see what comes of it.

has a considerably decent sized motor for what it is. i have a similar one branded comfort zone and the motor is about as big a 6” desk fan motor lol

It doesn’t challenge the Lakewood HV-9, but it’s not bad for what it is. Some of these are really underpowered.

That walmart fan I spoke of. The main stays is identical to this fan as far as I can tell.

Would it be easy to do a motor replacement on these small fans?
@JordanU2 ай бұрын
The difficulty would be finding a replacement motor.

What size screwdriver did you use when you unscrewed the fan?

It's a typical household-size Phillips driver, I don't recall the bit number.

What about soaking some of the parts of the can (Not just this one) in the oil you use to lubricate them with? Like to get into them and help repair them?
@JordanU5 жыл бұрын
That doesn't make sense, even if you replace the word 'can' with 'fan'..
@maddmaxx6365 жыл бұрын
@@JordanU Im talking about the bearings and such. Soak the bearings and parts that need oil and let it creep into the bearings and see if that frees them up. Instead of banding on them. Let it slowly creep into the bearings while you clean the fans.
@JordanU5 жыл бұрын
@@maddmaxx636 That's not how it works.. You have to bang (band?) it to get the alignment where it needs to be.. No amount of oil will make it work while out of alignment..

It depends on the unit, they're not all made to quality standards that hold over time.
