Wouldn't it be better to first remove the applied wd of the sprockets? Can't the wd on the sprockets remove the oil that you just applied?

I've bought a bottle of wd-40 chain and gear degreaser in Latvia and it doesn't foam at all. It sprays as a usual blue tube wd-40 liquid. Shaked well before spray. Why?

@@luisgiron5467 people confuse WD-40 rust removal thing from WD-40 bike chain degreaser. IDK if it is safe to use chain degreaser this way, but there are many different chemicals called WD-40 these days

I was told the same today. I used standard WD40 on the cassette to clean it before taking the wheel to a bike mechanic. He noticed it straight away and promptly stripped down the sealed bearings removing the covers and regreasing. He said DON'T do it again as it drives the grease out (and bearings are expensive)
