Once you set up the camera with the capture card you just have to crop to the image only as it shows the grey bars on top and bottom and side black bars. I followed your video instructions and was able to successfully install and use on the T5. Hi Phil,--I've set up my EOS M for streaming with Magic Lantern. I've bypassed the 30 minute limit, and it's all hooked up and I have clean output on HDMI through a video capture card, as you've done here. The image however is very low resolution, and looks really terrible, not at all like the lovely sharp image you get. My Logitech Brio produces a much better image, as does my Sony A5100, through the same capture card. Is it just that the Canon EOS M has lousy HDMI output? Or are there some settings I need to tweak?
@HelpfulPhil3 жыл бұрын
Most likely that the output is 'lousy' as you put it. You can check the resolution by recording it directly on your computer and checking the size. If the resolution is reasonable you could look into creating a LUT (colour correction profile) for your recoring environment.

@@HelpfulPhil Yeh like I said, SD Cards can be formatted just fine in the camera, unlike what you said in the video. ML does not replace the camera's firmware *at all*. I've spent all day fighting with my Canon Rebel T6 trying to get clean HDMI, my heart sank when I saw it wasn't on the list. oh well, time to keep looking

no need as most ML features are built in by Canon for that model.
Turn off Auto Focus and on your lens the same. Focus tracking is unlikely to work, depending upon Camera model, with ML's clean HDMI output settings.

doesn't work on 600d/T3i. This is not a clean hdmi out. Its simply hiding the overlays.nothing more. the resolution is still the same as the Display. And i have a black frame on every side. For streaming its useless

You might have the settings incorrectly set ? look at Display > Advanced Settings > Screen Layout.

@@HelpfulPhil I changed that. But the t3i doesn't fill the screen.
