Exactly what my setup would be when I do my van build, but with a gaming laptop. Maybe even the desk size, if possible, but would probably opt for an extendable. I'd like to do it as soon as possible but realistically, it'll be about 2 years away. Hopefully soon though, hopefully... 🙏

Even with minimalism in mind, I'd always suggest some sort of isolation between the speakers and the desks so you reduce/eliminate sound transmitting through the desk which can artificially influence your audio editing.

You can make mouse scroll smooth as well. There are apps for that. One is Mac mouse fix, other one is Mos. Both works kind of good. I don't use logitech options as with it we cannot use our beloved logitech mouse in Universal control way. Without the options app, it works flawless. If you need to map other mouse funtions, then there are still ways using karabiner elements, but that's a lot of work and I would not recommend it for everyone.

The microphone comparison around 04:58 was unfair because the Rode shotgun microphone's gain was not adjusted to match the Shure's volume, which guides peoples' opinion toward the louder option. I would have been curious to hear both with the same volume (I know that this would have required the Rode to be gain adjusted, but that's fine).

Nice setup! I was looking for that keyboard. I got a mechanical one, but it looks over time it can of hurts my wrists because it's too high. The trackpad on the the left is a good idea! So you also can have both hands moving around. ✌️👍 Great video! Thx for the inspiration

Loving the simple and minimalistic style and I’d definitely be interested to see your other setups :3 I’ve been looking to get a bigger desk too so I’ll have to check out IKEA’s options! Had to chuckle at the fact that you got that mouse just to match the rest of your setup but I get it 😂 I have the black Logitech Superlight and I would have loved to have gotten the white one (which is a lot more expensive for whatever reason) to better match my silver laptop better but because my setup is a mismatch of colors anyways, I didn’t feel as pressured haha As for the empty space, maybe some aloe plants or cacti? 🤔 Or some books as decoration?

Hey Jeff thanks for the video and love the setup! I'm wondering if you are connecting the Logitech camera directly to your Kensignton dock instead of the mac? I have a Logitech Streamcam with type C but it doesn't work at all when I connect it to my dock instead of the mac (Intel-based) directly. I need to reserve one type C for the dock and the remaining one for a 2nd external monitor so it's pretty annoying.

Thank you for the video! Does the Uppspel table top work well for your two-monitor arm clamp? It's not very thick, only 1in/2.5cm, and it's slightly sloped as well, so I'm worried that the clamp may slip off or crash the top.

Better to get a macbook pro for the portability rather than the Mini 2 pro? Wondering about overheating a laptop in a docking station for video editing.

Why not use your laptop monitor as well? You can put your horizontal screen to the right, laptop to the left. 3 monitors is better than two :)

Does your Kensington Docking Station allow you to turn on you macbook while its in clamshell/docked mode? Or do you have to take it out to turn it on?

Question: For the Kensington Docking Station, I have it too, but when I switch between macbooks the keyboard doesn't connect (it's bluetooth)

Nothing to do with the docking station, depends on how "good" the bluetooth is in your keyboard and your laptop!
