Those of you who ask how the pan got that way in the first place obviously don’t cook. I cook every day and scrub my pots and pans. Over time the build up is harder to keep up with. That is why new ones have to be purchased. So, you fast food people that only cook occasionally will have your pristine cookware forever. I have had to buy new cookware numerous times due to wear and tear. Real cooks do that. Thanks to all for offering cleaning solutions. That will ad some extra lifetime but sooner or later replacement will be needed. Also, the inside of pots and pans will deteriorate eventually.

@hecate235 Is there teflon on the outside of the pan?
@duffman183 жыл бұрын
@@gwarlow no, there's not. They don't know what they're talking about The beauty of a proper Tefal pan is that nothing sticks to the inside of it, even stuff like fried cheese. So you don't ever need to scrub to clean it (and scrubbing it just removed the non-stick coating anyway, which is dangerous because it's highly toxic to eat that coating so you don't want it to flake off into your food, and anyway it won't be non stick anymore once you've done that) Just use normal mild dishwashing detergent on a tefal pan, and only ever use either a soft cloth or a plastic sponge to clean it. That's all it needs. Some people seem to think you have to scrub it really hard to clean a Tefal pan. The only reason they do, is because the first time they ever scrubbed it, all the non-stick coating came off, so it was never non-stick after that. It's baffling as to why people think you need to do that. Like, I mentioned using a cloth, but really you don't even need that. Just soak it in soapy water and rinse it out and it's spotless All my tefal pans I've had for over 10 years, and they're still in perfect condition. It's really not hard to properly take care of them. For the bottom of the pans, yeah, use some proper cleaner. I've seen people recommend all sorts of weird shit, like boiling the bottom of the pans in bleach, but you really don't need to do that, just use oven cleaner like in the video But never ever scrub the inside of a tefal pan. Otherwise you'll need to buy a new one immediately

Nice job.. That product is amazing, I just posted a video on a similar way but faster and less scrubbing. I find that Easy Off product works great but needs a little bit of extra help to get the pans totally clean. My all clad fry pans are 20 years old and now they look brand new

If you scrub it w/a Brillo pad after every use, you won't have that problem. Take's nothing to pass it over the bottom of your pans, & keeps them cooking evenly.

Just a question. Does a dark, black surface absorb and transfer heat better than a bright, reflective, clean surface?

I learned this trick from my first landlord who provided excellent cleaning instructions to avoid cleaning fees. All of the stove parts, top and interior were put in a garbage bag, and then you liberally sprayed EasyOff into the bag and closed it. After sealing, you take your hands and smush everything around. Leave it overnight and come back the next day and wash with a mild abrasive pad, if needed. In this way you can clean ALL your dirty pans at once. Spraying into the bag helps contain the fumes, and the EasyOff gets on everything. It works great.

Baking soda, lye bath, Barkeeper's Friend. .. There are numerous ways. If you use chemicals like oven cleaner, better leave the skillet outside over night. You don't want those fumes in your house.

Ive tried every at home process. Baking soda, vinegar, goo, clr whatever. Oven cleaner is the only way. I also tell ladies its a great mace replacement in a home invasion if you keep one can of the original formula.

I wonder if an enzyme cleaner would work? It works so well on a stovetop. Put it on the stove enough for it to stay wet and come back a half-hour later and wipe with a cloth.

That was good. If you were to spray the pan thoroughly, put it in a tight black bag and leave it in a really warm place (in the sun, for instance) for eight hours, you'd be shocked how much better the fume-free Easy Off cleans.

@@mikedub628 yes you might have to do 2 times just like the oven cleaner put a heavy amount of baking soda spray a good soaking of vinegar let it dry a bit then respray to reactivate the baking soda scrub rinse with hot water repeat

You can use Easy Off on your glass top stove. Spray on thick when you go to bed and use a razor scraper to take it off the next day. I use "no odor" Easy Off. I've done this countless times and my 6 year old stove looks like the day it was first plugged in.

Every time I cook with my All Clad I scrub the bottom with Barkeeper's Friend and any new cooked on residue comes right off, so my pans stay looking beautiful. But keep in mind I don't let it build up. I do this every time I cook. Takes about a minute.

I ues a Plastic scouring pad and it doesn't scratch the surface like a metal brillo pad does. You can also damage the surface of a metal pot with a contaminant from the different type of metal in a brillo pad (This is why you NEVER use a steel buffing wheel on stainless parts, as you impregnate the stainless with steel... that rusts... and stains... so for stainless you use stainless, for brass, you have brass (this is also the same for wire brushes). You should also pay attention to the machining pattern of the metal. Often a stainless pot will be 'brushed' in a circular pattern (like the groves in a record), if you scrub across that pattern, (like the hands of a clock) you will leave visible scratches even with a soft plastic scourer (they are not called scourers because they are gentle)... Try and match the direction of the original machining. If you don't really care about scratches.. do you really care about a bit of black grime... Personally I just use a nylon scourer after each use (Inside and out) and have a stainless frying pan that came from a local thrifty shop that looks brand new. (Once clean I also 'Seasoned' it with oil and it is fairly much 'non stick' now so it stays cleaner with only the underneath needing a little attention when a bit of boil over occurs).

I just happened to do this last night, and my pan is outside in the air getting 24 hours to do its thing. I also use it on my roasting pans that can end up with build up of general unpleasantness, no matter how much one scrubs it. And yeah, fume free is only any good if you've already got a cleanish oven to begin with.
