Hey Mike! Good job with the demo. Glad you enjoyed this product too. We were aiming for that dark satin sheen look, so your results are in line with that. For those who want a bit more gloss, you can absolutely apply a second layer. You would apply the first layer, go arround all four tires, and by the time you get back to the first tire, it’s time to apply the second layer. Once the 2nd layer is applied, wait 10 min of curing, and then you can drive off in the elements if needed.

When it’s time to reapply, what is the best method to re-prep the tire (ie how do I remove what is left of the old Clean. Tire Dressing for a fresh application)? Sorry if this is a basic question-I’ve only used short term dressing previously.

@@PanTheOrganizer thanks Pan. You definitely achieved the look. I haven’t used to try a second layer next time to see how that looks. U like the fact that it dries to the touch.
@PanTheOrganizer2 ай бұрын
@@DriveTwistysWhen it’s time to reapply a few weeks down the line, just a good cleaning with a tire cleaner is all that is needed. Then you reapply a fresh layer. It will adhere to itself if there’s any still left on the tire so no worries. 👍🏻

I use one of those small waffle applicators with Darkside, never get an uneven finish. Wasn't a big fan of it in the beginning, but now i coat each tire, then go back and add a lighter coat. I felt i found the sweet spot, and then got bored, lol. So i tried Ethos Graphene Shine, so far i'm liking it. after hitting it with Primus, and Purifica, tires were still deep black, like new. Surprising. There is no perfect tire shine, or sealant.

Clockwise? Really??? Didn’t know the tires were paying attention. So if you don’t apply it clockwise, is the tire just going to reject the dressing? Tire: Expels the dressing and says “Nope, do it again, but do it clockwise this time”. 🤣🤣🤣 Sounds like someone is either overthinking things, or as you mentioned, is just looking for attention. Just get it on the tire. I can see how some dressings may apply better with a brush or an applicator, but those are dressing dependent.
@79blustone2 ай бұрын
Michelins are notorious for having slightly uneven coverage in those grooved areas, unless you use a tyre dressing brush. 4 weeks is pretty good, generally top it up quickly after each wash anyway. I think Darkside, this from Pan and ADS Ghost look great. I do like that aftershave smell from Carpro. I am still thinking about Ghost as my next dressing as I like the look as I prefer a slightly more gloss with tons of darkening saturation. The blue-ish indicator to let you know you've sort of reached the right amount of product on the tyre is a handy feature. But, I think this one is a definite winner. Pan has done it again!
@MikeGDetailing2 ай бұрын
@@79blustone you are right Michelin’s don’t often take to dressings that well. I remember that I do have some of those small brushes after I finish making the video 🤦♂️. Super easy to apply, especially using the foam side of their coating applicator, gives a great look, and lasts 3-4 weeks. I agree with your assessment of Darkside. I love the results, but I find myself having to wipe it down (even after about an hour) in order for it to completely dry. So I’m noticing days later that dressing is leaking out from those areas and I have to wipe it down again with a MF towel. Not sure how to remedy that issue. I started wiping the tire about an hour after application with a towel to dry and level anything left over.
