I always “put the house to bed” as I call it, after the kids go to bed, and before I even think about sitting down to relax, I tidy the house. The loud things like dishes I do right before they sleep, but sweeping and mopping, straightening out the couch, putting toys away, wiping down counters and surfaces, cleaning out the fridge etc happens when they sleep! I do this… every night takes about 10-15 minutes TOPS. Was a hard habit to start but just like making your bed first thing in the morning it’s life changing once the habit sets.

I always do the nightly clean up where u take just 15-30 min to put things in their place, wipe up any messes etc. It helps so much bc it feels like ur cleaning way less but really it's just more spread out!

I think the best way to get caught up on laundry when you get really behind, is to go to a laundromat and get it all done it once.

Building a steady and healthy routine of picking up after myself daily has made my life so much more easier! It takes 30 seconds to pick up something and put it back and it became a habit. Now deep clean days are once a week where I get into the vacuuming etc. Also pro tip for laundry once you catch up.. a load a day saves the day. Maybe 2 for you because you have babies. It’s a little overwhelming at first but it’s really helped me to have a schedule to clean. That way I can just wake up and know what I have to do. I put on a podcast or video and just zone out while I do my chores and don’t even let myself think about it. Obviously there’s some flexibility to it but it has helped me so much. I started out by focusing on my room and the living areas one week, and my kids room and the bathrooms the next, & switching back and forth. (Kitchen every day) Eventually I leveled up and am able to break it down further in to specific days lol. You can find what works for you but my point is it’s nice to have everything pre planned so you don’t even have to think about it when the day comes.

Cam, I don't know what your financial situation is, but you might be able hire someone to come in and clean every other week or even once a month. I personally cut out most of my dining out budget so I could use that money to get help cleaning and it was totally worth it for me. Its not as expensive as I originally thought it would be. Obviously I still have to tidy, do dishes, and laundry. But it takes the mental burden off of me knowing that someone else is doing the heavy duty cleaning if I just take care of those smaller daily things. It makes it less overwhelming and takes the pressure off so I dont have the whole thing hanging over my head which makes it hard for me to start even one small task.

Before bed I would do 10 minutes in the kitchen, and then a quick wipedown in the kitchen and in the bathrooms. That helped a surprising amount. I think so many of us get stuck on cleaning "right", and keeping a pristine home that it can feel unsustainable. For some people doing a different room a day works, for others doing a certain task a day works (vacuuming all the rooms, dusting), and sometimes little 10-15 cleaning breaks are enough to maintain. For me, the main requirement is MUSIC. All of this to say, change things up as often as you need, and find what works best for you - I find cleaning extremely boring, so I am constantly doing different things to keep it interesting. :)

Oh honey, all my kiddos have moved out but I have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a spouse and my house still gets messy. My pups don’t put their toy’s away ever so it always looks messy. Plus add dog and cat hair and voila, mess! Oh and I forgot hair balls, drool and doggie blankets!

I love spring cleaning as it helps me with mental stress, particularly when i am stressed with the build up of stuff. lol Take one room at a time and pace yourself. BTW, I am not sure i get what your T shirt is saying? It just seems a bit off you wearing it being so young and i may have missed something?
