Some (many) doctors are so close minded! They really disapprove of the keto diet, even when it is successful when their programs have been unsuccessful for 10 year. I’m talking about you, UCLA. But their dislike of keto is mild compared to their love of statins.

The two worst things for your kidneys are sugar and oxalates. It’s crucial to stop consuming sugar and high-carb foods and to start limiting your exposure to high-oxalate foods. However, consuming cheese or dairy with foods that are high in oxalates, but are otherwise healthy, can help counter kidney damage from oxalates. Foods high in oxalates: • Almonds • Spinach • Beet tops • Peanuts • Grains • Beans • Sweet potatoes • Cassava • Tapioca • Kiwi • Chocolate • Swiss chard • Turmeric • Cinnamon • Clove The best ways to protect your kidneys: 1. Consume lemon water every morning 2. Consume apple cider vinegar mixed in water 3. Consume 2.5 liters of water a day 4. Avoid high-oxalate foods or add dairy to high-oxalate foods 5. Get on the Healthy Keto® diet and do intermittent fasting 6. Avoid fructose 7. Avoid consuming high levels of vitamin C 8. Consume potassium (not for end-stage kidney disease) 9. Consume plant foods and microgreens Thank you Dr Berg,🐱👍🏿

Its probably because he himself was unhealthy and had to figure out what to do about it just like so many others, myself included. Doctor school just teaches how to manage symptoms and that is probably because the schools are bought and paid for by pharmaceutical companies. I wish i could find the documentary about how that developed over the last century. It was a war between healers that used herbs and food and doctors that used medicine and surgery.

I had gallstones and was recommended to have gall bladder removal surgery. A friend's mother in law who came visiting from Peru suggested CHANCA PIEDRA tea. (Phyllanthus niruri) It is known as stone breaker in her country. My gallstones were gone in two days. My primary care physician was shocked. I never had the surgery. It wasn't needed anymore. I researched it and found out that it is a plant native to tropical coastal areas. The entire plant is used to produce an herbal supplement used in teas, capsules, liquid extracts, and tablets. The herb is believed to have health benefits in treating ulcers, urinary tract stones, and various conditions related to the kidneys, liver, and digestive system. I am a huge green tea drinker so I added it to my tea war chest. This was 6 years ago. I have never had any problems at all since then. One reason you must listen to your mother in law. 😅

@@Drew_Hurst I agree. Recently I've read some comments decrying that we DON'T eat the same things every day our whole lives, like indigenous people might have. But since so much of our food supply is altered one way or another, with toxic results, I feel it's best to keep things switched up. Even with things like supplements, I like to alternate, say, a tincture, a pill, and whole foods containing that nutrient.

0:22: 👥 The kidney is a resilient organ that filters blood and is constantly exposed to various toxins and substances from the food we eat and the environment. 3:10: 🔑 Oxalates can cause issues such as kidney problems, arthritis, and pseudo gout, which is worsened by high levels of oxalates and can be exacerbated by excessive salt intake. 6:31: ✅ Consuming lemons or limes can help prevent kidney stones by binding with oxalates and lowering the risk of calcium binding. 9:14: 👥 Ketones are healthy for the kidneys, while a high carb diet can be damaging. 11:42: 🥤 Drinking enough liquids and avoiding high oxalate foods, while adding dairy or calcium, following a low carb ketogenic plan with intermittent fasting, and reducing fructose and vitamin C intake can help manage gout and pseudo gout. Lucky for me I followed your advice I stopped taking all forms of extra calcium, and started I drinking fresh squeezed pure lemon juice (6-8 lemons), once a week though a straw to avoid getting lemon juice on my teeth. I also drank from time to time a glass of unfiltered apple cider, with a tablespoon of ACV. No more kidney stone pains whatsoever!

@I'm happy Bed bath & Beyond is where I got the juicer, yes it's sour but it's not bad, if you use a big straw and suck it in past your teeth, and rinse your mouth fast after to minimize lemon juice on you teeth enamel. I do it first thing in the morning, and then do some activity. The next morning the pain is lessened, because the stones dissolved somewhat from the lemon juice. Repeat it the next day if you feel you need to. Good luck.

I'm 40 years old and I experienced gout for the first time. In the beginning I noticed a lot of uric crystals coming out of my scalp, I was urinating a lot, also pissing out sugars and would have back pain where my kidneys are intensely where it would wake me up at night and I had to spend a few hours on a foam roller just to get some relief. Then I developed a sore on the last joint of my left big toe. This wound would not go away and I had some intense pain from it just from walking or some nights laying with a blanket on it caused a lot of discomfort. I have to squeeze this thick jelly like build up from inside and then I get some relief but this went on for months and months. Then all my joints hurt suddenly for a week or so and just being on my knees or on my elbows hurt. I stopped eating pasta, gluten foods, ate less sugar, less salt. More bison meat, eggs, potatoes and water. Started juicing a lot of celery and grapefruit. Now my wound on my toe is completely gone and I don't have any pain walking, no more deep kidney pain, my digestion is far better. No more joint pains. Is it crazy experience and at one point I thought I was dying probably from the waste in my blood. So glad that I'm not experiencing that anymore. I've talked to my doctor and also a naturopath and they didn't even know what was happening.

Dr. Berg, you mentioned in a recent video that there is a gut bacteria that degrades oxalates, but didn't go into detail. I did a quick search and it's called Oxalobacter formigenes. Would love it if you did more of a deep dive into this in a future video. It's so fascinating what our microbiome can do.

This is how i consume lemon. I take a large organic lemon and split into two parts. One half, I place it in a blender along with unsweetned organic cocnut milk and ripened banana. I add honey for sweetness. Makes for a great shake. The other half, I squeeze into 12 ounces of water and add stevia for sweetness. I drink the shake during my eating period. I thought my white tongue was thrush and doctors were treating it as such. It would get better for a few days, then get worse again. Of all the doctors I've seen and ones here on the internet, plus the many books on health, Dr. Berg is the only one that has made the connection to a white tongue and a deep groove down the middle of the tongue, to the liver. My how that changes the direction of of what my problem may be. Thank you, Dr. Berg.

Pancreatic cancer has one thing in common: fuel. Soooo, nonorganic decaffeinated coffee, some drug like meth, and non organic almonds. That dates to '85, a bunch of growers contaminated their almonds with water down stream of cows, so e-coli, sickness, 3 dea-ths, 2 ways to fix, steam or fuel. Pancreas can't deal with fuel. Likely some jobs where workers get fuel soaked and skin absorption is an issue also. The tea strips every thing else, it is worth the bother. Need well water or distilled water in your glass gallons from the water store. To avoid floride or plastic stored distilled water.

I'm 65 and have had kidney issues since I was a child (my dad had kidney issues, too). I've had infections and stones, pain and HBP from them. I do take turmeric for pain as I spent years taking tylenol and then ibuprofen for migraines (a lot of both) and I think these have also damaged my kidneys. I am also taking uva ursi which seems to sooth my kidneys. Sometimes they ache, sometimes there is a sharp pain and sometimes they even uncomfortably quiver (I know that sounds weird,, but it can wake me from a sound sleep). The uva ursi calms them down so they stop quivering and aching. Perhaps there is a lot of potassium in it. I've started growing it in my permaculture yard as a ground cover to assure I will always have access to this wonderful plant.

Hi Dr. Berg! Thanks for doing what you do! I have stage IV kidney cancer. I have one kidney and am on immunotherapy, pembro/axitinib combo. I was having horrible side effects! Maybe some of that pseudo gout, but it’s more like very painful blisters on my feet. I started drinking lemon water daily 2L, consuming garlic cloves, and eating more fruits and vegetables after your suggestions and made some dietary changes. Since the change, I have noticed a bit of a difference! Potassium just might be the key! Thank you! Not sure if you have done any research on kidney cancer. It’s sadly becoming more prevalent, and often goes undiagnosed until later stages as it was in my case. I was only 34 when diagnosed and female which is considered rare. Maybe you could do a video about various cancers that are less talked about and the warning signs. Your doing great tho! I love your videos! Thank you for doing what you do! You are a hero!

Garlic and vitamin C from lemon water is known as an anti-cancer. God bless and be with you. Jesus cares so let him help you and help carry the burdens. A friend of mine suffered terribly till she started going through and repenting of all the anti-Christ stuff she had put her faith in instead that caused the Devil to have footholds over her life and have reasons to not let go. She actually thought she was seeking God while she did things like card reading and talking to spirits she thought were guides. It was a really hard wake up process for her to see that the guide she thought were helping her or actually trying to steal her life. Calling on the name of Jesus is what saved her. Not everyone has that dramatic of a story, but Jesus loves us and gave himself up for us, he’s worth praying too and asking for help. He’s also worth letting go of the things of this world and the ways that we follow that push us away from his better plans for us. I felt weird typing that to you, but I pray that it’s a blessing.

The only time I’ve ever got kidney stones is when I did Adkins (same as keto). It was so bad that I pulled in front of the ER, opened the door with the truck still running (didn’t care if someone stole it) and crawled in on my hands and knees. It was THAT bad.

Drs can't talk if any of this or they'll lose their license. They definitely won't discuss herbs. It lose theyr license. Yes check out who founded American medical society. Drs convicted this is wrong go back to school fir naturopathic work. Etc.

Along with lemon water and ACV, Chanca Piedra is an herb known as "stone breaker". It's mechanism of action is still unknown but it works on kidney stones, improving flow etc.

Listened to a well respected nephrologist from NYC who has had kidney stones himself advocates calcium (cheese or yoghurt) intake with oxalate rich food. In other words contrary to this video. Avoiding calcium intake in his pov increases kidney stones. The body also produces oxalates via the liver.

That Dr was obviously taking a balance of calcium and oxalate foods. I don’t think it’s ‘contrary’. Dr Beth mentions how calcium binds oxalates which protect kidneys. Your Dr obviously had that good balance. Most people don’t, so it’s important to understand what’s triggering and adjust the balance. Not contrary.

Someone here keeps saying 'eat cheese' almost all cheeses are very high in saturated fats which (can) lead to high cholesterol. I am an almost lifelong vegetarian and many foods on this list here, I eat. Blood tests have always shown my liver and kidneys to be in extremely good condition.
