Before you even add any water, hold the keyboard upside down and tap. You'd be surprised how much dirt and crumbs will fall out. Those will be harder to remove once you use water.

Bought a new keyboard - and cleaned the old (2-3yr old one) as per video. Worked great and now I have a great-back-up all ready to go in an emergency or if someone I know needs one.

Thank you for this. I picked up my first mechanical keyboard second-hand today (absolute steal, £20) and it's very dusty. I've ordered a can of compressed air, and I'll try this out when it arrives tomorrow.

Have you ever put your cordless keyboard in the dishwasher? Had a friend tell that it works great. I've never tried. God bless and stay well.

I haven't tried that. It sounds a bit strange to me, but I'd love to hear back if you end up trying it

Also 1. use a rather firm but not too firm, adequately long-bristled brush to get into the cracks and dislodge some of the caked-on dirt, and 2. leverage gravity: turn board upside down and tap it to allow loose debris to fall out.
@kiyoshiotda4423 ай бұрын
Great video. If one doesnt want to buy a compressed air can and has a hair dryer handy, the latter will work (no heat setting).

Water or soapy water?

If you can get away with just water that’s best. If you use soap make sure to clean it with just water after to get rid of all the soap

Sure. Keyboards get dirty pretty fast, so cleaning it now would be good. It will also be faster to clean it now than if you wait longer.

is it ok without a air compreser?
@Organizing-TV3 жыл бұрын
Yes it is ok to not use an air compressor or compressed air cans, but it won't be as effective

i am kinda scared will the soapy water go in the keyboard and ruin it??
@Organizing-TV4 жыл бұрын
From my personal experience it has been fine. But if you’re worried, you could try to just use water. I do that on a lot of my other electronics, it just takes more time

what if soapy water with bubbles get between the keys ?

could you use those hand held vaccums and replace the air compressor with the like vaccum
@Organizing-TV3 жыл бұрын
Vacuuming the keyboard is better than doing nothing for sure. But in my experience the compressed air is a lot more effective. Maybe consider taking the keys off too if you're going to vacuum it
