You're supposed to spray the carpet first, then go over with the vacuum part with spraying again. Otherwise, you'll over saturate the carpet, which is really damaging to the ground underneath the carpet.

I lucked out, my Hyla EST was a demo model that the dealer couldn't sell as new due to it being a demo unit, so I got mine for $2000 with the Nimbus wet cleaning kit included. I hate that machines like Rainbow and Hyla are so damn expensive, but the reason for that is because those machines are known for lasting for generations, and being passed down through families, so the companies aren't making money on volume like Bissell, Shark, Hoover, Eureka, etc, however, it sure would be interesting to know what the actual manufacturing cost of these machines is, I suspect the markup on these machines is very high.
