Hi, great video. Excellent tool. I verified the site today and tried to do some tests alone. I saw that 'separate tracks' option is not available anymore. There is a 'stereo split' mode in its place. For the description, in this mode we have 2 recorded channels: host and guests. Its good, of course, but a little limitation comparing with the 'separate' mode.

T Leaman thanks. Cleanfeed has a beta feature that allows guests to join from their iPhone or Android phone using the browser. On iPhone it seems to have a very high mic input level so just ask your guest to position the phone further away if the levels are going into the red. Otherwise there is not way to patch in a POTS phone call into Cleanfeed without additional hardware.

Great tutorial - thanks! I have the Rodecaster Pro - how do I record my side of the double-ender using the Rodecaster - before I drop my guest's .wav file into post (Audition)?
@TheThreeTechs4 жыл бұрын
Cleanfeed is not a double-ended Recording solution. It records everything on the host side, so there’s no need to download from your guests. If you want separate tracks, just be sure to choose the separate tracks option in Cleanfeed recording or get the Pro service, which includes multitrack recording-useful if you want to ISO record three or more people because the free version only separates up to two people before it combines guests onto the second channel.
@Entrepreneurs_in_Asia4 жыл бұрын
You guys are great - thanks a bunch for taking the time to make this. I am using Cleanfeed now because of your intro to the service a while back. I have a few questions. I am using the RCP with Cleanfeed, and I will upgrade to the Pro account today. But I wanted to ask: 1) Will hitting the record button on the RCP during a cleanfeed multitrack session cause any conflict with the processing while recording with Cleanfeed? 2) I still don't quite understand the difference between SEPARATE TRACK and MULTITRACK recording option on Cleanfeed. Lastly, 3) Rode has several PDF guides with instructing a user on how to set up multitrack recording with the RCP. Is that necessary if using Cleanfeed and if I plan to put all the separate tracks in Audition for post production? Thanks in advance guys and keep up the great work!
@TheThreeTechs4 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, 1) No, recording on RCP won’t affect Cleanfeed. 2) We didn’t explain this well in the video... separate tracks puts the local host on one channel and ALL other remote guests mixed together on the other channel (like a stereo split). If you only have two people-a host and a guest-then separate tracks or stereo split will be fine and put each person on their own track. If you have three or more people, then you need multitrack, which will put every participant on their own independent track (file). 3) Unless you’re only recording with one host and one guest, the RCP multitrack function won’t separate all the Cleanfeed participants into separate tracks. Remote Cleanfeed guests’ audio all comes mixed together on the stereo USB input in the RCP. If you’re using multitrack in Cleanfeed, you don’t really need to record multitrack on the RCP. You might just record on RCP as a backup in case your Chrome browser totally crashes during your session and you lose its audio.

It really depends on how you’re delivering your webinars... WebEx, Zoom, and similar systems have their own preset video and audio codecs and bitrates. There are other tools like Wirecast, Vmix, ecamm live, and mimoLive that provide high bandwidth video and audio remote calling that can be recorded remotely and also streamed to any service.

@Nyargot.PCOS.2542 жыл бұрын
I don't think they have a solution for this yet, unfortunately, the option of recording it in your own browser is one of the reasons the audio quality is good. Hope they figure this out. It depends how you’re streaming to Facebook. If you’re streaming through Zoom’s built in Facebook live feature, then you’ll need to unmute sound in Zoom. Zoom also now has the ability to enable original (higher quality) sound. So maybe that will be good enough instead of using Cleanfeed for audio.

Yes. When doing remote recording if you match the quality of both people’s mic and room sound, it will be hard to tell that you’re not in the same room. If one person’s audio sounds worse than the other person, like more background noise or worse microphone, it will sound like you’re not in the same room.

That’s unusual to be getting that much delay. Wi-Fi wouldn’t explain it. Does one of you use satellite internet? Or maybe you’re using a VPN that is routing your signal around the world before it gets there? Do a ping test between you to see the actual network latency.

We probably wouldn’t use Zoom and Cleanfeed together for a live event, as the setup is doubly complicated for each participant. If you want to use Zoom for video recording and Cleanfeed for audio recording, you could make it work. Just mute Zoom mics and speakers and use Cleanfeed for the audio. Couple ideas: 1. Use a hardwired network connection-not Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi adds a lot of latency just in the encoding, wireless transmission, and decoding. Use hardwired for everyone. 2. Check your sound card sample frequency and drop it to 44.1 or 48kHz instead of 96kHz or even 192kHz if your sound card supports high sample frequencies. The higher sample frequencies require your computer to use a larger buffer size in order to avoid dropouts when processing the sound because there’s more data per second to process.
