I have found, over the years when you have pans that have been excessively burnt like this the best thing to do is get old fashioned dishwasher powder the climate is loose not the little tablets and boil some water and put it in the pan and sprinkle that stuff on and swish it around it will dissolve without suds and will typically dissolve such stains.
@floopflarp

Ammonia is not the active ingredient here to make this an easy step. You are using brillo pads which are basically steel wool with soap mixed in and that's just a rough abrasive. Swapping to new brillo pads when the soap runs out is not improving your scrubbing and cleaning ability, you could just stick with the same pad or switch to a power drill abrasive pad like you did in the video. You are scrubbing the shit out of the pan and just grinding away the grime instead of actively cleaning it off, basically the same as taking sandpaper to the pan. You could easily use an oxalic acid paste (Most common product is powdered Barkeeper's Friend) over the hard to hit areas and a mild scrubber brush a few hours later or pad to hit mild stains or a stainless steel chainmail scrubber to remove harder to clean gunk. This has a bigger chance to actively fight the built up burned in char/grease, etc while also not grinding the surface of your half sheet pans away and leaving that scuffed to hell surface.

Y'all do know that a seasoned baking sheet cooks better than a shiny new one, right? You treat them as you would cast iron. You're supposed to season the sheet as you would a griddle or cast iron. That's why grannies have baking sheets that look like they were used in the Civil War. If you do this, you have to re-season.

I would have thought baking soda and white vinegar would have been of some help. Use equal parts - the vinegar activates the baking soda and foams up nicely. You can use the same combo for cleaning out tub drain - dump baking soda then pour on white vinegar - then pour a couple gallons of boiling water (BIG TALL spaghetti Pot's worth of scalding hot water) to flush down the baking soda/vinegar starter.

I find it, preventing the soiling more cost effective. Simply line the pans with either foil or parchment. They pans still get some stains, but minimally, and those are easier to clean overall. I personally would not use any cleaner that is acidic in nature, it will discolor or even ruin the pans. Unless you have restaurant grade aluminum pans, I would be carful. Most pans that you buy at walmart are made of CCC and not likely to last long. In the end, which is more valuable to you? Time, effort, convenience?. I think placing the pan in the oven, get it really, really hot. Then carefully take it outside and take a power washer to it. Ladies, my respect to you! @@CleanFreakGermaphobe I posted another comment but please give it a shot what I said there. Try out oxalic acid (Barkeeper's Friend) and much more mild abrasives. You won't be scrubbing into the pan as much as flaking away the surface grime. It's a well known tool for stainless steel sinks and cook tops in the cooking industry and I even use it in my stainless steel cook pans as to not scratch up the smooth surface of the pan. I clean with a chainmail scrubber because it doesn't dig into the metal but even a mild abrasive plastic cleaner could help to do the work if you don't want to buy a special scrubber to do the trick. Dirt cheap Scotch-Brite pads would be my second choice over my chainmail scrubber.. You can make a paste out of the powder and let it sit on heavy grime zones for an hour or two to let the chemical soak into the cooked on bits and then use a mild abrasive that won't damage the pan as severely as brillo pads (steel wool) would do, though you only want it to sit as a paste when the grime is really built up. In most normal circumstances with mild staining you would just get the sheet pan wet and sprinkle the oxalic acid powder over the top and scrub for a few minutes to remove caked on grime until it rinses clean (and most of the time it's only a minute or two). You won't have such deep gouging and scratching in your pans with this method and it will still get rid of all that baked on grime on your sheet pans!

Thanks for the feedback and kind way you asked. I'm trying to improve on it. It's a struggle. I'm on my 3rd wireless microphone because I had problems with the other two. Before that, I used a mic on the camera. It works great if I don't move around a lot. Hopefully this new set will work well and not break or have static.

That thing is all scratched up now. Oven cleaner works better. Soak for 20 minutes then it pretty much just wipes clean. As bad as your pans were you might have to do it a couple of times.

We can try it. In general I can't handle oven cleaner because it's so caustic. I was going to throw out the pan and it was scratched already. Used it today and I'm still in awe over how good it looks.

Simple muriatic acid 50/50 H2O let it sit 1hr, results are unbelievable, yeah l know acid. Simple wash with H2O and baking powder, then your favorite dish washing agent let dry and like new.

Many people show this as fast and easy so I wanted to test that theory. Not true. But I'm happy because it still looks great and we use it a lot. Quality is worth the cost. I've since bought a baking sheet at a cooking store. It's not as good as this one. Cheaper metal that scratches easier and even harder to clean.

Efrain Mcshell Instead of putting down someone so nice trying to share and improve things for themselves and others trying to help saying it's going to ruin our kids future, maybe you should be on other videos complaining of what our governments are doing to all of us. They are the ones ruining each and everyone of our futures and freedoms. Yet your worried about trying to belittle someone for being nice trying to help others clean there baking pans 🙄. Try saving those type of comments to were they really matter not against your fellow neighbors.
