I have followed your videos all along and learned so much. I remember a video fleece vs bedding. I want to let you know why fleece was so much better for me. I was spot cleaning the cage for night time and usually sat with her and listen to podcasts, wash clothes etc. Kissy was having some softer poops, but I listened to your video and got dryer food. Her poop improved a bit, but the night of March 29th she was bending over a few times trying to get to her bottom. I got up and looked into her cage and didn't see any poop. I had lost track of time but it may have been an hour or less. I got scared and found a 24-hour emergency vet about an hour from my home. It was about 9 pm and they told me to bring her right over. They found she had 107 temp. But didn't find any special symptoms. They kept her overnight and called me a few hours after I got home and said her temp went down. I was in touch all day and they told me to give them time to see how she was doing with the meds We picked her up later the next night. The main point I wanted to make is that if I hadn't used fleece I wouldn't have noticed right away the lack of poop. The vet let me bring her back and forth only charging me for meds for months. She took a great interest in Kissy. Kissy died on the 9th from Kidney failure. I had taken her to the vet two days before and was hand feeding her baby food as the vet showed me how and also critical care (she stopped eating hay and had a hard time with pellets). I was given a pain killer and something like Pepto Bismol for her tummy pain because the vet said we were weeks away from the end. The vet fed her some baby food which she loved and gave me some to take home. Kissy was still eating some treats, which is all she wanted and the vet said anything she wanted. Basically, I was doing hospice. I was to bring her back as soon as she stopped eating, but my sister checked on her about 11:30 that morning and Kissy got up to go to her bowl, I had been asleep for a few hours and by the time I got back down to prepare to feed her again which was less than an hours from when my sister checked her, ( I was feeding her every few hours), she was gone. She had been sleeping most of the time and this time she was forever asleep in her favorite place in her cage. Again, thank you for all your good advice and videos.

I love the setup you have for your guinea a pigs :) They must have an amazing life with huge cages, a friend who they get along well with (Besides Mr. Calvin xP.) They have a huge variety of fleece xD, a great diet, and best of all; a loving owner who knows more than a majority of guinea pig owners :)

Great videos! I'd love to see a floor time video. Would also love to see the up close on your cage construction, particularly the corners and overhangs where you have the fleece set up to hang down to give them a hiding place. So I have been studying your cleaning videos! I love how efficient you are! Can you say, in one place/video/comment, what nights you do what? I have slowly modified my cage from half bedding/half fleece...to full fleece and I am adopting your techniques! I know you do full cleanings on Tues and Fri and on one of those days you spray the coroplast too. There are some days that you change the pads only and some days you change the beds completely. Right now I use 2layers of towels with fleece on top. I only have 2 cage liners that cover a little more than half my cage. I made my own but have no time to make liners now so I layer! Big guinea fan of yours! Keep making cleaning vids...love them! (FYI- I have 3 girls Hershee, Pepper and Oreo in a Midwest habitat with the ramp end removed and attached to a 2X3 C&C cage..so It's like a 2X6 all open space)

I have a very small cage right now it is petstore cage and its tooooo small for I'm guinea pig he just a baby and he has some room not much but I take him out for play time a lot since its summer and school starts in two weeks and I would like to get him a bigger cage and I'm getting him a friend! Hes only been in the cage for a week or less bc I just got him. And when I go back to school I wont be able to take him out as much, so how bog should theyre cage be.
