I'm reading all of these comments. I have guinea pigs myself. They have more then enough room! I have two, there cage is a the same size as the half point, maybe a bit bigger. They run freely and enjoy the amount of space they have. She gave them hay, she took it out before the video because trust me, its messy!!! She's a better pet owner than all of us! So enough hate and just realize how hard she works and how much money she spends to keep them happy! My god

I just dont agree with 3females in a 2x3 and 2 males in a 2x3 I'm sorry I never will , they need more than that . Aside from that and the seed sticks I'm great 🤷🏼♀️ hay too, they need lots of hay .

Shes done it very complicated. It's not that hard I promise . I have 10 pigs and 5 cages . First the fact that she uses 1 blanket is making it harder on her . Had she had individuals in each cage she could have lifted each up out and kept the mess contained in the blankets (dont shake out in cage) . Take blankets outside and shake off the mess , sweep anything clung to the fabric off so it doesnt get in your machine , wash and done . With adequate layers of absorbent fabric those urine stains wouldn't be there. Seeds are awful for pigs no treat sticks are needed they need hay veggies and pellets. Adult pigs need more space also . 2x3 is tight for multiple pigs , especially males. I suggest at LEAST a 2x4 . Think of how you'd feel if you were restricted to a small area all day every day. If you'd like more info go to theguineapigforum.co.uk or find me on Facebook.

Cages are to be a minimum of 3 X 2 per guinea pig ,so ppl stop berating her by saying "your cage is way too small blah blah blah" At least she has given these pigs a loving home! Unlike many who just find it so easy to dump them off at adoption places! We rescue guinea pigs and have 13 11 are from ppl who didn't want them anymore!

I have pond liner as a base. The cubes (wire tied) sit on top and the remaining liner (it's huge!) ive used as walls on three sides half way up the cubes. I don't need any on the front as the hay box keeps the hay from straying, i do get a little, but it's soon picked up. I've only used connectors on the front corners as they do get clogged with poop. Its much easier to just lift and vacuum once the fleece is out. A wipe with white vinegar on a damp cloth, dried with a towel and all fresh and clean ! 😊 Btw, their enclosure is sturdy enough and it works for me and my Furry Family of four. 🐹 How satisfying is it to see your Piggies happy and healthy in their clean house? We use pool towel under, then fleece blanket atop, replacing those daily, but it's a quick fold and dump, then storing the dirty linens in a plastic bin outside until we're ready to launder once a week. Our clean up seems much faster, but we don't have all the extra items to move, but thanks for the video.

Have you ever had trouble with that? I noticed that you don't use binder clips all the way around, so that's why I was wondering. :) Thanks!

I'm gonna clear a few things up as a proud piggie owner. Guinea pigs need space however with an upper section it doubles the space they have. Having said that I have a 2 meter by 3 meter run with a 3 meter by 1 meter hutch and a ramp. I have 2 rabbits and 1 guinea pig. Before anyone says that that is not enough room it is classed as a giant animal shed. I know from previous videos that these guinea pigs do get hay and the way she has the cages set up all though it is not natural it is the safer and cleaner to use fleece. In fact when I introduce a new rabbit (like I did a few months back) there was a small fight, I needed to separate them and therefore I used this style cage with fleece.

It can be quite hard to get ALL the hair off, you can try sweeping it off with a stiff bristled brush or vacuuming the fleece. When I wash my fleece there tends to be a bit of hair still stuck on but once it has gone through the dryer almost all of it is gone, dryer sheets help too! :)

wondering if some fleece materials are better than other at controlling the odor? We bought fleece at JoAnn recently, and it seems to start smelling much sooner than the blanket we originally used...

Thank you for sharing. How often do you do this clean?

You can get it at most hardware stores or art supply stores. Art supply stores refer to it traditionally as coroplast, hardware stores will refer to it as corrugated plastic (or they'll have no idea what youre talking about) In Canada suburban (read larger and better equipped) Home Depot stores carry it, or Midoco Art Supply and Office Supply which is in Toronto.

I have a coroplast cage for my pigs. :) no grid things around it at the moment, I used an old cage lid, I pulled all the separate grids apart and I use them. I have fleece in the main floor and bedding in the loft. And I have a litter box with bedding in it on the main floor. :)

what kind of pellets do you use for your litter boxes? I use the Clean and Cozy bedding ( By Kaytee) in my litter boxes.

I have one Pig at the moment, going to go get another one this week :) I was wondering Where you buy your grids? I can't seem to find them anywhere and I don't want to get another pig until I can build them a bigger cage.

Thanks! It doesn't sound too serious if its only now and then. If they stop eating/drinking or have any nasal discharge then take them to see a vet immediately. Some pigs can also be allergic to certain dusty bedding such as pine and aspen shavings

I got two boxes with 19 grid panels each at bed bath and beyond for 19.99 each and my fleece from Wal-Mart which was 2.50. I cut up some pieces to make hammocks and cuppies for my little ones and they love it. Switching from sawdust definitely seemed to be worth their health rather than my budget
@MissCavyQueen12 жыл бұрын
It isn't actually to bad for smell so long as it is swept out daily. However I find it can get a bit smelly by the end of the week, whereas sometimes paper based bedding can last almost 2 weeks. I enjoy the fleece better though because it is less messy :)

I'm thinking of switching to a c&c cage for my one piggie, we have a dog, so is it good to put the c &c cage on a table? Also is the c&c easier to mantain than a normal cage? Thanks! Your videos are extremely helpful to me and my Gizmo ;)

Just got my first two guinea pigs! Yay! I'm trying to get feedback from the guinea pig community as to why people choose fleece over bedding. Looks like you have to wash and change the fleece every day. What's the advantage to the fleece? And also, I read that they like to dig, and that's why people use bedding. What can you tell me?
@serafinag51389 жыл бұрын
I don't know where you heard that, but guinea pigs usually don't burrow. I would recommend fleece over paper or wood bedding because in the long run, it will be cheaper. It does need cleaning at least once a day, preferably 2, but it smells less and is much more clean and cost effective.
@ZanyProductionz9 жыл бұрын
The Pet Smart Care guide on Guinea Pigs says they like to dig.

ZanyProductionz Please do not use any pet store website as a reliable source for your information. thats not true as well.
@ZanyProductionz9 жыл бұрын
It's the brochure care guide they provide in their store. The Care Guides are not on their website. But Pet Smart is a reliable source. Their info comes mostly from Vets. Why do you say that?
@serafinag51389 жыл бұрын
ZanyProductionz Petsmart pays vets to say that the products and pamphlets are reliable and safe. Things like small cages, cheap food, and unsafe treats and toys are "recommended" by vets that are PAID by the pet stores to promote the unsafe product. Please do not use the stores as a reliable source of information. I'm just trying to help who I can. If you want to find some reliable information, you can look at who I'm subbed to here on KZbin. For any Guinea Pig care information please look at the pet channels that I'm subscribed to. The information provided by these people is reliable.

Is fleece normally recommended for the c&c cage or is bedding just as good too?
@StardollStaff111 жыл бұрын
So you do this once every week am I right? I know that u have to sweep the poop daily but the changing of the fleece and towels are once every week right? Btw, I love ur videos and ur piggies! They're so cute

Hi, I got my Guinea pigs 2 weeks ago, and I got a rabbit cage for them. I feel it isn't big enough, so I'm gonna build a bigger cage and I'm thinking of using fleece. Would u recommend it? If so, how often should I wash it? I'm gonna try to daily scoop poop every day or 2 cuz that's what I do with them now with bedding..
@lunamoonvids21598 жыл бұрын
Hi I know it's been awhile since you commented that question but I thought you still may want help. I would totally recommend fleece!!! It's a lot cheaper than bedding in the long run! But you should spot clean twice a day if you get it that's what I do. I take the fleece out and replace it twice a week. Once on Tuesday and once on Friday. You should buy at least 3 different fleece blankets. You'll have to wash them each about three times before they will wick away pee. Remember to put an absorbent layer underneath the fleece blanket. If you want more info go watch skinnypigs1's video about fleece it has a lot of info in it. - Sophia

I just have a question In your big cage where the middle parting is, why did you block off the view from the boys and girls?
@lilygrace8044 жыл бұрын
GreenieBeanie this is the latest response in comment history but it is so that the males don’t want to mate with the females because if they do they might have babies and the babies are a lot of work so they may have to send them off to a shelter and then that many more guinea pigs will need homes🥺

Hi, I also woud like to know how often you do this? I have a 9 year old daughter who's responsible for her guinea pigs. Do you think the fleece method is too much for her? (she's always been using carefree)
