Cleaning Ford 2000 Tractor Air Cleaner (oil-bath type). Video shows how I Cleaned the air cleaner filter and oil bath, on a Ford 2000 diesel Tractor. I could not find any step by step instructions. So I had to wing it. I could be wrong here (Beware)

Ya you did it right, You dont have to rinse it out with water though it only rusts everything. Just a good rinsing with kerosene will usually do the trick.

What he said..... these are good filters they just require hands on maintenance and some kerosene or something, Diesel ? that won't cause rust. Then you fill the bottom bowl with motor oil to the fill line that's stamped on it, that's what traps the fine dirt. Make sure your rubber connections are tight so air won't bypass the filter.

I have been working on the old filter i gave up and bought a new one on line, so easy to take of oil pan has three clips , ok it came with a rubber casket I dont have a clue how it goes on, any ideas out there 😊

I have a ford 3000, There is a cannister sticking out the right side with a plate over it and a round screw out nob.Figured it was an air cleaner filter or something.Screwd the nob all the way out,it wiggles a bit but not sure I can get it out of there without tearing it up.Tried a crowbar even,So how do I get into it,or do I ?

the screene needs to be removed to get to the paper air filter above it in the canister. it will come out with force.

What do you mean you soaked it in kerosene? You put then entire filter in kerosene?

How was it running before the filter change? Mine is loosing power to the point of dying when I go up hill or power a bush hog. Thanks

Sounds like you are loosing compression. That’s what was wrong with mine

@@rickydavis1903 yes it was. The air filter hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Once we cleaned that it ran like it’s supposed to.

At the bottom of the filter canister where the filter cap is there are three tabs that need to be pressed in as you pull the filter cap down. You'll have to work around pressing and pulling until the cap comes off. You can then pull the wire mesh out and learn the joy of trying to put it back in.
