I just bought a 4423. Thanks for the video. You have saved me from my sewing machine winding up having to be serviced sooner than later. 🌹🙂.

Thank you for this excellent guide. The screws were difficult to loosen, but succeeded with the extra leverage of holding the tiny Singer screwdriver with a pair of pliers . Just followed your video along, and now my machine is beautifully clean

hunny! that little silver triangular thingee saved me a big headache yesterday in unscrewing the plate screws! i didn't know what to do! i tried to unscrew them with a regular screwdriver and couldn't untill i saw a youtube video on how to do it! hunny, it changed my life! lol! AND ANOTHER THING..i didn't know you can get big thread spools like that and put them in a container in the back of the machine and thread the machine like normal. i thought those big spools were for sergers only! wow! i need to buy some big spools like that!
@dillaamelia Жыл бұрын
Yes I love big spools and you can put it in a cute mug 😆

Never pull your thread in reverse back through the machine. Cut it and pull it through the needle to avoid pulling thread particulate and dust back through your tensioners.

Thank you for a great demonstration of cleaning and oiling a Singer sewing machine. The only thing I would recommend is to start cleaning from top to bottom. I also cover the bottom area with a cloth while cleaning the top so that I don’t have more dirt fall inside the bottom area of the machine.

Thank you very much, it helped me a lot step by step, I was doing it wrong by just squirting oil to all the crevices without removing the parts.👍

Thank you so much , after oiling the top part of my singer 4452 the sound that my machine actually produces while sewing has majorily reduced too.😊

Which is what I just found out. Why wouldn't you put a section on how to clean and oil your machine, in the users manual?

This video is not showing a complete process of cleaning/ oiling. I've found another video with opening bottom cover and top cover (with the handle) with a lot more places to clean and oil.

Loved the video on mute. Your rare subtitles were excellent, you zoomed in where necessary and I'll put my large spools into a milkshake cup instead of winding onto a spare bobbin to use as a spool. Thankyou very much. M

2:17 wait, there's not a piece of felt in the center? I got mine second hand and I don't know if it's a piece of felt or just a huge accumulation of dust.
@dillaamelia Жыл бұрын
it looks like the felt is supposed to be in the small hole, I've seen someone take the felt out of the hole, and it seems you’re not supposed to take it out, idk i won’t take a risk 😅
@anitavarma8342 Жыл бұрын
There should be a small felt like piece in the hole in the centre where you should put a few drops of machine oil. It doesn't stick out, it's just inside the hole and you should leave it where it is. Anything else is lint that you need to clean up.
@LitoGeorge Жыл бұрын
yes, its cylindrical, thin and an inch or so long. Its meant to be in the bobbin area to absorb and distribute oil slowly. Remove all lint exras, and put that important "sponge" back in!
