The garden segment was interesting. We also have a septic tank/soak away which sorta failed a couple of years ago, I was rodding it out so I know how it is, yuck. To cut a long story short it turns out we had caused the problem by re directing the gutter downspouts to the septic tank [15 years ago] and the soak away couldn't cope with the volume of water. We still haven't remedied the situation so I have a pump in there to empty it on to the field [water only, the sediment is all at the bottom]. Watching you tackle the job reminds me that it needs sorting.

1st to comment thank you - Looks like that is what the previous owner has done here. In the UK we lived in a place called 'Melling' in Liverpool our drain pipe used to soak away into the garden which caused flooding. I had to redirect them to the main drains.🙂

@@frenchfarmhouserenovation71 You wouldn't recognise Melling now, it's all houses. Even the old Ashtons farm in the village by the Bootle arms/church has recently been sold for housing development.
