The "green bread" is actually pandan cake. It's green because of the chlorophyll that is in the leaf juice that is extracted from a plant called Pandanus amaryllifolius. ITS MY FAVOURITE CAKE IN THE WHOLE WORLD ☺️ and was my birthday cake when I celebrated my 16th birthday over in Bali a few years ago ☺️

I got one little doubt. If the turtles are hand-fed since they are little babies: 1. Do they ever learn how to get their food by their own? 2. When they're released, aren't they going to feel safe around humans, when the idea is for them to stay as far from humans as possible?
@kathryncastanares5255 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you. The turtles should AT LEAST be given live food in an enclosure with similar habitat set up to what they would have in the wild to be used to the currants, and having to catch their food and learn how to chase them around an obstacle of rocks and seaweed etc. At the very least a few months before being released into the wild. Although the intention is to conserve the turtles amd ensure their population regrowth etc. Its practically setting them up to fail in the wild, and increasing their chances of fatalities by not only not having any skills, they will also not have a natural fear of humans and wont have any natural fear of other possible predators to stay away from. But also, the females will likely not return to their natural nesting grounds either. Its really just not set up for success. There are places in japan that have set up barricades around nesting grounds for the turtles, netted off sections for the newborns and the juveniles around the nesting and hatching seasons so that the turtles get all the benefits of protection all while continuing their natural life cycle of hatching amd going straight into the water, having all the natural resources of live food to learn to feed themselves, interact with other sea creatures etc. And the humans make as little contact as possible with them. And it costs much less than having them set up in boxed "tanks with stagnant water. Without the need to be continuously taken in and out, put into little bowls to be hamd fed and washed and back into their tanks. The reasons they are having to do all of that is because of the types of setups they have, with the water being stagnant there will be algy build ups and they feed them separately to avoid having to wash the tanks out more often. Which can be avoided if they had a better set up. I commend every single person dedicated to helping wildlife, but some places need to do more research into the animals and how best to care for them to be able to reintroduce them into the wild.

@@kathryncastanares525 chill they have a whole lotta time to learn to fend for themselves compared to the small time they were being fed
@Gabrocol3 жыл бұрын
@@kathryncastanares525 Baby sea turtles generally look for loose plant and protist based foods, handing these turtles the food is simulating the way they find food as young. When baby sea turtles are born, only 1 in a 1,000 turtles survive till adulthood. This place is growing the hatchlings till they are larger and therefore have a higher chance of survival. No it does not mess with instinct as the turtles don't catch anything when they are young. When they grow older their instinct to catch food remains and they move on and hopefully survive to fully grown adult. Also turtles don't "fear" humans. They only fear when they feel threatened, humans do no threaten sea turtles. Have you ever swam with one??
