Hey y’all! We’re cleaning out a cattle guard that filled up from the washed out road. I thought I could take the cattle guard off and remove the material, that’s not how that turned out. The cattle guard was concreted in and the clay had to be dug out by hand. Hope y’all enjoy today’s video! Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to subscribe, like, share, and comment on this video. God Bless- Cody

I really thought it would! I wouldn’t have taken my excavator over there if I knew it wouldn’t 🤦🏼‍♂️. I want to find the guy that poured that sucker in there solid 😂. Appreciate the comment Sam! God bless!

Digging out a cattle guard by hand is a lot of work, but you got it done Cody. Sometimes they build them guards where they sit the pipe on a ledge below the top . That would have made it alttle easier on ya. That gravel should help it from filling up with dirt so quick. It looked good when you got finished. Your right that spillway was a mess. That dirt is the kind that just melts when it gets wet. It will not grow a sprig of grass. It looked like it was plenty wide to carry the water. Good job Cody, keep it up.👍

@@DunsmoreMovingDirt he’s better off fixing it to remove to clean out. Thank you sir! No it def won’t grow anything but a mesquite tree lol😂. Is that clay good to build a dam with? I appreciate the comment sir! God bless!

@Lonestardiggin It makes better holes than dams , but it can be done. Trouble is it doesn't pack to well and does not bond together very good. If you can put it together in thins lifts and get it thick in width it usally will hold. If you can get topsoil on it so some grass will grow it seems to hold it together better. Hope your getting some rain, very little up here. Seems to be staying more south.

@@DunsmoreMovingDirt it’s def not like the clay you see most places. It’s always powder dry lol that entire area of county has a lot of that clay. Thank you for advice and knowledge sir! Yes sir praise the Lord we are getting some good rains finally!!! It was getting really dry.

Watching you run the skidsteer is impressive. Especially with hand/foot controls. I learned on a machine like that, but when I bought my own, I got one with all hand controls. When I first got it, every time I got on it, I would push both levers forward to make it go. Lol. It took me a while to get used to the hand controls, but now, I prefer the hand controls. Nice job bud.

Thank you sir! I have not tried to run a skid like I do my excavator yet. Just hand and foot controls are what I learned on. I’m sure I will one day lol . Ha ha that’s pretty funny. Creature of habit 😂. Appreciate the comment brother! God bless!

It's amazing watching you run the skid steer with your knee! Does your knee get sore? If it does, would a knee pad help? That's a lot of hand digging, don't blow out your good arm! I dig your videos?
