Cleaning copper pipe and wire with salt and vinegar....good or bad idea?

Good day to everyone we would like to show a small demonstration of what vinegar and salt does to copper pipe and copper wire. It takes the tarnish off copper pipe but leaves it a dull colour. Far better just to sell it as it is with no labour costs.
I will be bringing more videos on how to be environmentally friendly in your everyday life whilst being sustainable. I hope that you enjoy the ride and find it useful. My main interests like in waste recycling, scrapping, caring for the environment and doing volunteer clean ups.

Your video shows us that it works. Had you kept it in longer it would have come out even better. But you mistakenly claim it takes the shine out of copper, except it didn’t. It just only partly removed the tarnish because you didn’t leave it long enough!

it is worth your time if you have a lot of #2 copper not small amounts turn it from #2 to #1 copper not bare bright about 10 to 30 cents per lb increase viniger and salt is cheap

I'm not convinced. It didn't do a thorough job, sure, but how do we know it didn't at least remove the outer tarnish layer, and it needs more cleaning with say Autosol to achieve that shine?

Would filing not take material off the copper pipe? I'd rather try and leave material on it that remove it. What about using wire wool or something? Interesting video though, thanks. Got my brain going.

not sure what you hoped to get out of copper wire last i heard scrapyards dont pay more for sparkly copper then they do for clean copper also had you taken your file to your sample the way you did to your comparison piece they would have looked exactly the same !!!! EXACTLY THE SAME !!! this half-ass crap pissed me off .
