Love how you incorporate folding laundry in different locations as needed. Modivates me to clean in different spots. My favorite spot is on the floor next to the dryer, so I don't have to move them twice. Each family member can grap their personal laundry on their way to their rooms! Watching you fold relaxes me, also nice to see how someone else folds.

Thank you for a great video, I love seeing more whole house cleaning and organising. I can really relate to the strict budgeting and through scrimping for years we can now afford more things for us, it is always worth it in the end even if it doesnt feel like it at the time. With your playroom, I can offer a fairly simple solution to organising. I'm a teacher and for the younger ones (7 and below) we always have pictures of the like-items in each box, draw or bin area. They can then be independent in putting stuff away (you may still need to check every now and then though!) But it makes it SOOO much easier. They can then be taught the systems and why it is important to keep it organised - so you can find stuff. Same with the barbies, I don't like rotating but we sometimes have seasonal stuff. But again, label things with pictures to help. Thanks again for a great video, enjoy watching them for motivation 😀

I've been following you for a few weeks now and I just wanted to say how happy I am for you and your family. I'm a stay at home caregiver for my disabled husband so I know very well what it's like to live on a tight budget. Love your videos!

I know that being a full time care giver is a very hard job - no matter how much you love the person you are caring for!! I just wanted to say - even tho it may not be possible on the regular or often - but do your best to take time for yourself!! If you can get some help here & there just to have a few hours for you. If not, try to make it a priority that whatever time - night/day that your husband is sleeping or not in need of immediate assistance to do something towards self care! I know you have probably heard this but I just wanted to reiterate the idea bcse I also know that any down time you may have you probably try & get things done that you can't when you are care giving! I know the exhaustion is real as well as the burn out! Please try to be good to yourself as much as possible even in small ways i.e. filing your nails, taking a bath/long hot shower.....at least I see you can watch some youtube vids which can certainly be inspiring as well as a way to escape for a little while!! Just be good to you! You deserve it! ♥♥♥

We were a big craft family as well. I kept their crafts in large clear glass ( covered) jars from Target. These jars were perfect for storing beads, glitter jars, scissors, crayons, colored pencils, markers, stickers, paint brushes, etc. I used a system like yours for colored paper, die cuts, glue, large stickers, etc for scrapbooking. I kept the jars in the closet and we had a table set up in the middle of the room with a drop. Lots under the table. I just donated the table after many fun-filled days crafting. My oldest daughter is an artist and photographer. Limiting the craft area to a craft table really kept the art creating isolated to the art table. When the girls needed to change gears, they needed to clean the area for the next activity like they would in school.

Loving Life as Megan Our craft table was in a designated, carpeted playroom so it wasn’t in our main living room. Also, I did have a large rug under the table so it kept the mess contained and the girls learned to pu before moving on to the next craft. I kept the craft jars in my top shelf in the linen closet so they had to ask Mom for the next activity.

I for one enjoy the folding of the clothes and sometimes I get a ahha moment where I’m like maybe I should try folding laundry that way to make more space in the draws I guess since laundry is my least favorite chore seeing someone tackling this chore in every video makes me feel like okay I’m not alone with having a mountain of laundry 🧺 loved this video glad this has become what it has for your family motivates me to work twice as hard 🥰

Yes my mama always told me the same thing about towels. Fabric softener builds up on your towels and makes them less absorbent and less soft. But washing with a cup of vinegar and no detergent give them a nice refresh

What your mom said is true about fabric softeners/dryer sheets deterring absorbency. I’m from New Orleans and learned that when I was younger too. Fold away my dear!!! There’s something very satisfying about it. 💖

Never tried toy rotation, but sympathize with the Barbie accessories all over the place. What I did was use a shallow drawer system, like the Steralite drawers, with smaller labeled containers for Food, Fashion Accessories, Clothes that my daughter could pull out and “dump”. So only smaller amounts of stuff gets dumped since it’s sorted to more easily find what she needs. It’s easier for her to sort and put things back too. I also deal with arts and craft supplies messes. Again, we use shallow drawers with smaller containers inside to keep things together. Paper sorting trays for plain and colored paper, plastic jars for other kinds of craft supplies (beads, gems, googly eyes. Basically lots of separate containers. Cafeteria-style plastic trays are great for containing messes (like keeping beads from scattering, doing watercolors, play dough). I still do a lot of the cleanup, but I try to get her to help as much as possible and encourage cleaning up one mess before creating another. Good luck!

The way you set up the playroom almost made me tear up. That's almost exactly how my mom set it up for me when I was a kid. I started to show my creativity at a very young age, like your daughter. Being able to have access like that did wonders for me and now in my adult life, I am an avid graphic designer/web developer and successful event planner (I personally create most/all the decorations/design). I give credit it to that play room/arts and crafts room and my mom letting me have the freedom to access everything to my creative success today. To be able to have creativity in different spheres in my life is because it was cultivated/encouraged by my mom when I was a kid, as you are doing for your daughter. I thank my mom all the time to this day and I smile about it to myself at least once a day as I work on creative projects for work. I know the clean up and organization for that room is a pain, I totally get it. A lot of times, my mom would get me to help her organize/clean that room and that activity together is some of the best memories we have together. Eventually, that's how I got the organization bug! But keep that room and the art supply access the same, your daughter will thank you one day, I promise. ❤️

For the toy organisation, I think what could help, is having less stuff and more storage. Just like you organise your kitchen etc. For example the barbie stuff. If all different pieces are stuffed in 1 or 2 boxes, to find anything, the kids have to get everything out of the box.

Megan Yes Ive heard that all my life, that towels become less absorbent with fabric softener in them. I'm quite a bit older than you (74) Ive never put fabric softener in my towels or washcloth's or dish towels.

I bought some of the dryer balls and never use dryer sheets anymore. If I want a scent I use essential oil or bath and body spray on the dryer ball. I was also told dryer sheets or liquid fabric softener will stop absorption of the towels. I know you can wash towels in hot water with baking soda and wash again with vinegar to get rid of buildup but I don't have hot water run to my washer and would have to go to the laundromat to do it, so that's a no.

I use distilled white venegar as a fabric softener in my towels. It takes away odors and makes them much softer.

I've heard the same thing about fabric softener. We love using vinegar as fabric softener and you don't smell it on your clothes and won't affect the absorption of the towels.

Your videos are so satisfying to watch, I love all of them! I think the toy rotation is an excellent idea! I’m looking forward to that video. I found that when I minimized the amount of toys my 5 year old had around her, she played much better and cleanup became a breeze! A few tips: 1. you can start by pulling out anything they don’t currently play with and any items that you have excess of, place these items in clear containers and store them out of sight. 2. Set limits such as: 3 Barbies, 5 outfits, and 10 accessories per child, or something like that. You can always add back more! But maybe see how it works out with less options first. 3. Determine how often your kids enjoy having “new” items switched into their play area. One per week, once a month, etc. Follow the one in, one out rule when rotating items in and out. You may be surprised how well they do for a while with less! See what they ask for and what they never mention again. Declutter for good whatever doesn’t serve your family anymore. 4. Lastly, be encouraged that this is a process and you may try a lot of different things before landing on what works for you! Good luck with this, and God bless you and your family!

So you wanted to get some advice on how to get things organized. One way is to teach the children , that when they are done with that particular "center" area. They have to put all the items back before moving on. Say like if they are in the arts and craft. They want to go play barbies. Pick up one area first. That will help you too. Also, before lunch and before dinner. Pick up room. I was a preschool teacher and those were some of the rules. Maybe you do so.e if this already. Just trying to help. Everything looks so nice. 👌🌸
