Thanks for the tip, I just bought a used mesh snare and it was covered in booze stains and cigarette tar. I used OxiClean Max Force Spray and it looks brand new again! Cheers!

While the pad appears clean, you can still see that 'dreaded black dot' in the center... I tested three different cleaning methods in my video, and Mr Clean had the best results with little effort/abuse of the pad. And, it removed that black dot!

What's the brand of the washing powder that you used here?
@fraserp23777 жыл бұрын
I got a second hand drum with a dirty mesh. It's been through the washing machine, scrubbed with every product I can find, and sat in neat bleach for 24 hours yet it still looks terrible. I think the stains are on the inside of the mesh between the 2 sheets. I guess some of them can't be saved.
@Vdrumtips17 жыл бұрын
If it is that dirty, you probably can't save them. I would probably replace them and sell the dirty one on ebay.

@@TomBurnsVideos I have white spot ans mr.clean did nor remove it. The mesh head is on a PDX-128 that I bought in japan and realized it was made in Malaysia. I think the problem is Malaysian made Roland drums is just crap. I have 8 Roland Mesh head that are made in Japan and none of them has that white dot

I have an issue with my PDX-8 V-drums snare - I removed the mesh head for cleaning (great instructions, btw!). The foam rubber that was between the mesh head and the trigger was sort of adhered to the mesh head - it triggered perfectly. However, when I replace the mesh head, the rubber no longer reaches up to touch the mesh head! I think the rubber is really old and needs to be replaced but I can't find a replacement anywhere!!! Do you have any tips on replacing this foam rubber for the trigger?
@Vdrumtips19 жыл бұрын
I know the PDX-8 trigger foam. There are only 2 things you can try: 1. Contact the Roland support and ask where you can get a replacement foam. 2. Make one yourself. Try to find a similar ind of foam and cut it out. That is what I would do.
@trevorbelmont4633 Жыл бұрын
It looks like the trigger foam has melted at the middle? Is this a natural occurence on mesh heads?
@PITCHEDsenses Жыл бұрын
I have my mesh heads about 13 years and absolutely none of them has this kind of black dot in the middle like that.
@ncimson5318 Жыл бұрын
They deteriorate specially the generic cones. If you store your drums make sure its in a cool dry place and never in the attic, i learned the hard way

how hard is it to remove logos? I bought some mesh heads and would like to remove the logos
@Vdrumtips16 жыл бұрын
Cam Par It takes some bleach. Not sure if you can remove it completely though.
@YamahaDan10010 жыл бұрын
Will the bleach remove logos or make them fade? Please do not answer if you have not done this and dont know for sure, thanks
@Vdrumtips110 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, you have to be really careful with the bleach. It will remove the Logo. You have to find a way to just treat the dirty spots with bleach. Thanks for the question!

Yes, bleach is acidity pH 11-13, and is known as a corrosive. Unless you have tried and tested, be careful as the acidity may have a reaction to the quality of the mesh

Yes, same with every mesh pad. I just cleaned 3 PD-125 myself. You just have to tune them afterwards.

Why? The Remo silent strokes are not nearly as good as the Roland ones. They have only one layer and are very bouncy.
