This is outstandingly helpful! I've already learned what I've wanted to know and I haven't even watched a full minute yet.

Thanks for the tip about head tension! All of the setup documentation (and other info) simply suggests to "tighten the heads to where they feel like acoustic drums." I've never touched an acoustic drumset!

I think an overhead shot would be helpful to add... it looks like the second Tom is hooked to the right side curved bar?

Hi sir Your picture is so dark it’s hard to really see , I’m having a hard time fitting my two high Tom’s just like yours flat at a slight angle except both Tom’s stay on top ,but the frame stabilizer bar keeps getting in the way. Is there a trick or something I’m missing??? I was wondering if you ever answer questions? If ya do ,do ya have any suggestions?😊thanks

Hi Craig. I have two questions for you. First let me say I enjoyed this little set up lesson thank you. So I have been playing in a band and noticed that my ride cymbal seems to over ring instead of a nice CRISP sound. It almost seems like the sound lingers a bit. which becomes annoying. What do I need to adjust on my Roland v drum settings. also I noticed in your kit that you set up the 2nd tom as if it were a floor tom instead of two next to each other on the kick drum position. Do you find it more comfortable or does it help to position the ride cymbal in a more comfortable spot. Thank you in advance for your help. Lanny

Can we position the Tom on any bar we want as in any order or configuration? my instructions had me mouth one Tom to the left bar and to Tom's on the right bar , which is completely stupid, now I have a Tom up over my snare and to all the way on the right side. I feel like just forgetting the instructions and putting them where I want them and see if I can make it work that way.

mryhnp Wondering this too. I don’t like punching my leg when I play, and I also want the snare to be high enough to where I can do rimshots. Did you ever find out if this is possible?
@ronniek77482 жыл бұрын
I’m having this very same problem. When I play my acoustic kit 90% of the time I’m hitting rim shots. I can’t seem to get this snare high enough to do this easily without punching up my left leg.

+Harry Rushakoff - Craig is advising on a very specific subject not going off at a tangent. Perhaps you may want to try searching for another episode which deals more about 'using the brain!'. Maybe you would like him to include a recipe for tomato soup in the same session as well, or perhaps how to split the atom! I have just purchased the TD15 and this is a great starter session for a guitar player like me learning the drums for the first time and wanting to start by learning how to sit properly behind a kit. ;-)

Did you catch the title "Setting up your V-Drums kit"? My guess would be it's a video about setting up your V-Drums kit.
