I used wd40 which removed a lot of grunge in the cylinder. But it must be dry before you put it back because there are electrical contacts under the cylinder. Still works after a few years

Great video. All the OG owners will be here eventually. True...they never stop needing attention. Replaced the rear springs on my aero wagon, and she rewarded me by leaving a puddle of antifreeze in the driveway later that night... 🤣 Still love em.

Just replaced my radiator Saturday afternoon. Got the Nissens. Broke the knob at the bottom of the fan shroud where the transmission lines are attached. Not mentioned in the WIS instructions

Thank you for showing where the removal tab is!!! Our 08 9-5 ignition lock is sticking some.

Very useful! I found that a 9/64” Allen key worked best. My 3mm missed the spot, and 4mm wouldn’t go in. A++.

Thank you for showing the removal of the little circuit board. This is usually missing in other videos! I didn't know that it's attached to the plastic cover and did what looks like you did. I tried to move the whole thing clockwise but it didn't feel like it was going to go so I popped the plastic part up and it snapped the two little tabs that keep it in place. No big deal, to me, as the plastic piece sits back on after all is done. I ended up looking at this circuit board and wondered what to do next. I stopped because I didn't want to break anything else and jump on KZbin. Thanks again!

I struggled with the removal also. I used an Allen key to remove it, but there are some pretty cool homemade ones as well. I saw a video where they explicitly explained that when inserting the removal tool that it works if you rotate the inserted piece to the "3 o'clock" position. I kept pushing straight in the hole. DON'T DO THAT! The tool can go half way straight in, then rotate it slightly to the right and it should lay across the whole release lever. Ask me how I know.@@BWTECH0521

Only one thing, do not pull up on the cover for that cylinder. Turn to the right , the bottom of it should turn left, and then after it turns a bit you'll feel it come loose. Then pull straight up carefully as you still need to unclip the connection.

You are right! My cover was already broken :(

Hey Bruce, love your vids. Thank you so much for taking the effort to meke them and educate everyone :-) Now my problem is slightly different and i'm hoping you or any of you followers can share your ideas. The "sticky" part on my ignition is the cilinder itself. I'm not able to turn the key out of the lock position. Anyone know how to fix this? Many thanks from Holland!

Maybe key is worn enough that it's not pushing in one or more of the wafers. I used to open a lot of locks at one of my jobs and usually, if you wiggle the key, move every different direction as you twist clockwise, it opens.

While it's out, might as well copy the key code

go to a junkyard and get a new (used) one! I think my driver side door handle is becoming loose. Maybe for a future video :)

My cilinder is not going deep inside, and i can not turn the key, because of the small pimp is not poping out enouth to let the key turn, any ideas?
@BWTECH0521Ай бұрын
I can't know for sure without seeing it, but that to me sounds like it needs more lube. Something is stuck.
@grazvydasnauseda8954Ай бұрын
@@BWTECH0521 i manage to push it more inside, and the small pimp is now in his place, and it should let me turn-rotate the key now, but it wont, so now the problem is somewhere else
