I don’t know if it’s the new camera or the mysterious BTS Joe tweaking but these two overhead videos looked noticeably extra stunning. The brilliance of the colors and variation in textures comes through much more clearly. So so lovely to watch. I hope you managed to find some peace and joy this Christmas. Looking at those Adept shadows made me go to the website and create a palette then I took a minute and decided to go play with my own single shadows and try to replicate this palette I’ve just made. To my surprise I already had all those colors that I was lusting over so I assembled my own palette from my already here singles! I’ve been using and Loving it without purchasing the shiny new thing 😉 thanks for inspiring me to be a better conscious consumer.

I wonder if you could use a small towel to clean in between instead of using so many paper towels. I love playing with singles and moving them around as well and a towel really helps with swatches and cleaning! I love your decluttering videos! they really help me go let go of things I don’t need or use!

These videos are soooooo helpful. I know only other makeup aficionados understand how this extends to all of life. On a more technical level it helps me to take ownership over all this “stuff”. I find it an adventure. It’s fun to find a hidden gem. It’s just so empowering to pull it apart and judge for oneself. I mean I really can’t even see these things, because I have palettes that were curated by a brand and the entire color story doesn’t make sense to me ☝🏼and this is the key: for my eyes, for my complexion, for my age, etc. The other thing I started doing recently is to stop looking at highlighters as not suiting mr, but experience them as eye shadows. That actually helped me dump even more inner eye brighteners.

These 2 videos were fantastic. I've seen you making smaller palettes so it was great to see how the big ones were made. Virtually all my eyeshadows pop out (ND, Viseart, & now some Lisa Eldridge) but finding a small palette with a clear lid is impossible. And if I had a bigger one I could raid the palettes I have for singles and give away the rest to my sister & her daughter, both of whom have just started wearing makeup and have the opposite colouring to me. I make some space, and they can experiment without wasting money.

Hi Hannah! I’m really interested in starting to use single shadows but don’t know where to start when it comes to curating a collection of them. There’s so many brands to choose from and it feels a little overwhelming. Would you make a video sort of like your if I had to start over from scratch videos but with single shadows? This makes me wonder if depotting some of my palettes would be a more interesting way to enjoy my colors. I like the way you can do a custom curated selection and in doing that you have seemingly unlimited options. I sometimes pull colors from different palettes, but that seems more cumbersome. @@kagitsune are you me? I also depotted all my palettes recently and it’s absolutely freeing! I dupe every palette I like more easily, and I can always pop the shadows back into their palettes if I want the original color story. Palettes with magnetic removable pans are the best!

I depotted most of the palettes I owned and got rid of some rid of some of the shades and kept others. Hannah inspired me. I did the depotting I believe like last year or the year before (can't remember). I have bought singles mostly with very few palettes being allowed to come into my collection since then.

I do a rotating makeup basket situation as a way of going through my belongings. I am SO INSPIRED right now because I have been trying to think of a way to revamp how I rotate through my many single eyeshadows and having a separate smaller palette and designated storage palettes is genius. SO PUMPED. Also I did a makeup advent as well for the second year, also inspired by you. My friends love doing it 🥰 This year I had them include a piece of jewelry for each day as well! So, this is probably too late or you won’t see it. But I just wanted to say, I also have that purple marbled Adept palette (love it so much), but from my searching for it since, they don’t sell it anymore. I can’t find it on their site or Amazon. That may not change anything for you, but they don’t sell that palette or any that exact size. Which is a bummer because I find it to be a perfect size.
