The long awaited sequel to the PoopHouse is here. TURNS OUT: tearing down moldy drywall in the desert isn't that fun but we manage. And by "we" I mean "I". Here's a quick re-cap of the state of the thing:
My brother @HomeMadeModern bought me a small house on 2.5 acres in the California Desert. The house had been abandoned for several years after the previous owner had passed away. In the subsequent years, it had sheltered numerous squatters. By the time it came to me, it was in a pretty sorry state.
The initial walkthrough video that Ben and I did together can be found here • We bought a house from...
I had a lot of questions after I posted Phase 01 so I made a video answering some of the more pertinent ones. I will be putting out a follow-up video to Phase 02 to talk a bit about this phase of the build and to answer any questions that might arise. Don't be creepy.

Can I just say, outside of this being an informative look at a unique home re-haul, your editing is amazing. So many of those sledgehammer swings and crowbar twists were to the beat of the music tracks, and I'm HERE for it. Like that beam falling perfectly to the beat at 9:19? Absolutely delightful, and so satisfying.

It's fascinating how Americans can take down a whole house with a hammer! Our houses here in Pakistan are made of bricks and blocks, the concept of houses made of wood is so foreign to us!

This is not a good example of American homes. That fake wood paneling is not widely used. Internal walls are generally plaster or drywall.

Same here in Brazil. It is hard to fix our houses because everything (plumbing and electrical wiring) is inside walls made of bricks covered in plastering (cement). You can't even put a wall down without an engineer approval, because the house could collapse.

Sat here and was reminded of the little "poop house" we bought 6 years ago. No hydro, no plumbing..camped in the back yard for a few months, ripped out EVERYTHING..Now I sit in our little piece of heaven. Its beautiful and comfortable and the poop house is a distant memory. Watching you we are cheering you on knowing what can be accomplished through grit, determination and passion. Best of luck my dear, its a long but amazing journey.

Whenever I watch a show like Property Brothers, where they have the segment where they start demo with the homeowners "helping", the wife always does this dainty ineffective little swing that doesn't even make a coin-sized hole in the drywall. It was a pleasure to see a woman swinging a sledge like she meant it. Power, sister! Also, I need that ladder bench thingy. I needed it twenty years ago.

Awesome video. Maybe look into getting some steel toe boots. Wouldn't want any nails getting though those chucks. Especially since you're doing that type of work. I learned from my own experience.

Looking better now, kiddo! Had to laugh at the name tags, but even laughed harder at the different colored duct tape around your ankles and feet... like your shoes. That so reminds me of my granddaughter! Quirky is good! Billy

“And I sleep a lot” I feel that. Also did anybody get a homemade power ranger vibe around the 28 minute area when she was wearing the full kit and the different color tape? It was great.
