It’s great! My shed has been completed and it turned out nice looking and sturdy and it is way better than the sheds that many of my neighbors had put up. Of course, I'm pleased with the outcome and this Ryan’s kzbin.infoUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans was extremely useful to me as a guide.

It's special watching you redo an older house rather than just building cabins from scratch. I'll never build a cabin on my own but I'm sure have a lot of history of cleaning out old houses in the country that have sat empty awhile. 😊

I love all your videos. Started watching you and also Brook's Girl in the Woods a few years ago. Just found your brother recently, Black Spruce, too. I lived at Ft Wainwright 2011-2013 with daughter and family while her husband was deployed. Love Fairbanks. I went back for about 1 yr 2019, stayed with friends I made while there 1st time. Love your content, narration and videography. I'm now 75 yrs old and I'm enjoying life vicariously with all three KZbin stations. Keep doing all you guys are doing. You guys are my favorites. Hugs from an old grandma 😂❤

Mr. Porcupine is going to be terribly upset that you are squatting on his home and destroying it! Though he says thank you for taking out the chamber pot. Can't wait to see what you do. This place makes me think of Sam and Jenny Campbell and I know this isn't like their cabin at all. But with the Porcupine and the setting, this is how my brain sees the setup under the trees. Of course, this doesn't have the lake either, and their cabin was in Northern Wisconsin (Three Lakes). This place is really exciting to see what you do with and it is such a perfect place. Thank you as always for taking us along!

Dave, thanks of sharing your off-grid life. I am 61 years old and always wanted to do it. Put almost 25 years in the Army, got nine grandchildren, but still got the feeling since I was in my 20s. I am willing to sell my house and build one far away from what's going on, I got solar and thinking about having four wind turbines, use one for fanning the other three...

The Lane Coffee Table- My parents bought three pieces from that line of coffee tables: 2 end tables and a long piece with double stacked tables on a pivot, so that the bottom table would swing out into an 'L' shape. Yes, they were very pricey in the late 60s and now with the Mid Century Modern Trend, you could get some money for that table. Let Brooke work her magic with some wood cleaner and a bees wax finish, and it would look almost new. I really enjoy the way you two work. Not many people would MAKE the time and effort to roll up that barbed wire and then try to sell it. My family would do the same thing. Although, I think I would have left some cabinetry outside for Porky, the Porcupine to chill out. OR you could build a designated house for him; don't they eat the pesky bugs that destroy gardens?

I bought a similar cabin a few years ago that people left and never returned. I found a receipt on the kitchen table for a propane fill from 7 years before I closed on it. It came with a old car, truck, pontoon boat, speed boat, 2 small aluminum fishing boats, 4 small outboard motors, a camper, a dock and a lot of personal belongings. The cabin needed a whole lot of work too. Having the time of my life fixing it up.

I use to hate my parents rental property chores (when the rentals would move out & we would clean up the house/yard for the next renter)...but, as an adult I realize that I learned a lot and enjoy this kind of work now. Your son will someday realize you & Brook are teaching him phenomenal life skills on how to survive & thrive. 💪🏡🧹🧽 Cant wait to see Brook's great decorating ideas with this "old" soon to be new cabin. 🌷☘🌷

Check out Aladdin kit homes. They were in central MI, still producing in 1975 I believe. I introduced myself in Brooke's comments if she'll share. My first house restoration in FL was a 1913 Sears kit, added to in 1926 again using Sears upgrade components for that house. Very interesting.
