This truck seems pretty clean. Just a little surface rust! I agree with flushing the fuel lines!! Now you don't have to worry about it.

Thanks for taking the time to record and upload Spanky! Gotta love these ol trucks. Hopefully we get to see it restored. Keep up the good work lady! Your channel is becoming one of my favourites. I dig your delivery. You're like... a fusion of Brian from Briansmobile1 and Nekane Sweet. lol

Knowing the fuel lines are clean will give you peace of mind. The truck seems to be in great shape for it's age. That's what people say about me too. :)

I would guess that a new pump would be quite cheap if it doesn't work , maybe their hard to get for that year. Even low pressure electric pumps are relatively low cost if you need one. My 69 chev always had the smell of fuel in the cab with the tank there.
@D6Spanky7 жыл бұрын
STEVE ROB actually that are pretty expensive!

Good to see a new video from you. if you don't have any I suggest investing in a set of line wrenches ( aka flare nut wrenches ) much better for removing fuel lines then standard open end wrenches. just make sure to get a quality brand as the cheap ones tend to spread open.

1974 Mustang II here. Car wouldn't run, got a New Fuel Pump, car Ran drove it around the block. Tried to turn it on a 4 days later, car wouldn't Run, New Fuil Filter finally came in, installed it, car Srated. Turned car off after driving it for about 20 minutes, now it wont start. Not the battery, not the Starters, not the alternator. You think its my fuel line.

Does this have the 217 or the 235? My dad just bought a 49 with the 217 and I've taken on the task of getting it running! Had to take the starter off and apart cause it wouldn't turn over, but after cleaning it turns over great. Now just have to get it back in the truck to test

D6Spanky lucky... We intend on finding a 235 eventually, but there is plenty of other work outside of the engine to be done until then!

D6Spanky looks like this will be a fun project for you, hope you end up shooting some footage on brake work for it, cause currently ours has no working brakes! Or even brake lines for that matter...

Update, found a previously rebuilt 235 with 3 speed transmission for 175 dollars. Currently determining of prior rebuild is still good(older rebuild, 80s or 90s), but was a good find regardless

I think I would take that check list your restoration friend gave you and throw it away. You removed the gas tank, you're taking all the gas lines off and everything is fine. Quit dinking around, throw some gas in her, a fresh battery and see if that puppy will fire up. You're making a mountain out of a molehill. Instead of looking for problems, make the problems come to you. You're killing me here. HaHaHaHa. Doug

THANK GOD FOR WOMEN.15 plus minutes showing actual procedure AND the camera is in a great spot.every other vid is under 2 minutes,half of that time time fooling with the camera thats 20 feet away while the remainder of the vid is just an endless whine of a starter draining a 12volt battery down.FAVORITE truck body style of all time,dented up to show trucks,well that is if you DRIVE the show truck.trucks PULL/TOW trailers,they do not travel to events on the back of a trailer.if you sank 100 grand into the truck,awesome(BUT YOU'RE ALSO THE REASON A RUST OUT IS CLOSE TO 10K), but with that dough you can get paint touched up and or full respray.no wonder there are "transjenders" when people are confused as to what a truck is.I WILL UTTER NO APOLOGY FOR THAT REMARK.
@D6Spanky6 жыл бұрын
keith turbin well, there will be a lot of videos on this truck, they just need to be edited. Right now work on it is in hold while the owner decides if he wants to convert to 12 volt or keep it 6 volt. Thanks for watching!
