In these transitions, your voice is a constant stream of words, but the images combine excerpts of previous shot sequences. This is not criticism, but comment on good production technique, and your audience / viewers evidently appreciate the effort. BTW-- (1) what is your camera setup-- brand and model of camera, and your other equipment? (2) What is your preferred video production software?

Quick tip: To prime the fuel pump on a push start, push the start button twice without your foot on the brake pedal. This will put it in the Run position without starting the ignition and will activate the fuel pump. You also have to put the ignition in the Run position without the engine running in order to reset your oil life on these 2.4l 200’s. Obviously it still started, so no big deal. But if the battery was weak enough, the starter cranking while the fuel system was priming itself could have killed the battery before the engine finally started

My favourite things about ChrisFix videos is 17:08. "...and we are not using this special machine, we gonna do it by hand". This is by far the most valuable part. No fancy expensive shit. Just a tiny 9volt battery, some bog-standard 99% alcohol, rubber gloves, air compressor. Simple things, or at least something one can relatively easily rent out for a day. Anyone can fix anything if they have the tools do the fixing for them.

20:03 It's really not a good idea to use medium strength threadlocker on screws that go into plastic! From the permabond website: "Anaerobic threadlockers are used for metal fasteners; they should not be used on plastics as metal ions are required to cure the material, and they can stress crack plastics." I found this out the hard way when some new plastic parts fell off my car that I had used blue loctite on.

For those who have a push start, if you are checking for activity in your fuel pump (listening for it), you can press the button without the brake and listen for it. Most cars will run the pump with just battery mode on. Afterwards turn the power off, wait about 30 seconds, and press again (without brake) and you should hear it again. Not sure if this works for all, but just some knowledge over the years.
@a.a.ron_ Жыл бұрын
This is generally the case in my experience. Additionally with cars like BMW, if you unlock the car, or open the door once the ECU has gone to sleep, it will pressurise the the fuel lines, too. But in general, turning the car on to the ON position without touching the brake to avoid starting the car should be sufficient in most vehicles.

With respect I say this, over the years as a mechanic I have repaired two vehicles with sugar in the gas tank. On older cars with fuel pump bolted to the engine it would do damage. Sugar is a acid and in right environment will be a acid to metals. On car with fuel pump in the gas tank sugar will turn in to a gel in the tank and clogged the pump up! You are right water will clean out the area with sugar.

lol yeah, but the reason being is mechanics will take the easy route if they can, which includes just replacing everything. So instead of doing all the cleaning, he's going to rip out the fuel line, the tank, injectors, fill hose and just replace them with new parts. Certainly effective, but hardly the most practical or economical method. It pays to have some car repair knowledge. I've been working on my own vehicles for 18 years and have done everything from oil changes to engine/transmission rebuilds. Can't imagine how much money I would've had to pay for all the stuff I've done, I've easily saved tens of thousands throughout the years I'm sure.

@@jw11432 So as a mechanic i can say, atleast in my country replacing something is alot cheaper than fixing it. Reason being that just the work (time spent on working on the car) that i, the mechanic do, costs alot of money. Now obviously replacing something is done way quicker than fixing the same part so with parts being relatively cheap it's cheaper to replace it. Also we are under alot of stress because we have alot of other customers. Again, replaing something takes less time, meaning theres more time for other customers.

You just reminded me of a story. There were a couple of guys who came to the Keys on vacation. They rather steal gas than buy it. So one day their van drove well and the next day it sounded like it was ready to throw a piston. They stole a 5 gallon gas can filled with what they thought was gas. Without smelling it to see if it was gas, water or what cover, they pour all the contents of the gas can into their tank. It was Kerosene. Their plan was to run the van on it and add gas when they could find it to run it all out of the tank. They left Marathon before it was running good again, so I don't know if they destroyed the motor or not. But it would serve them right if the thing blew up on them. Instant Karma, but these guys were too dumb to learn their lesson. LOL
