Cleaning out the disgusting coolant from my Mk1 Clio.

I'm doing everything I can to put off dealing with Nicole's rusty undercarriage, so in this episode i'll be attempting to clean out all the chocolate milk that's been used as a coolant for this poor, neglected French fancy.

Rather common neglect and little antifreeze - the silt build up in tight spots in the system so if the heater isnt as hot as it should be youll need to replace the heater matrix too :(

Yeah your'e spot on ther Dave. The heater is weak but I'm having to remove a lot of the interior because of all the welding that needs doing so it'll make my life 10% easier i suppose.

Another good investment is an ebay Ultrasonic cleaner, it will have made light work of cleaning the crud out of the tank (and a 1000 other cleaning uses). I also put a small smear of grease/vaseline on the inside wall of the end of the hoses. You will thank yourself putting them back on, and taking them off again down the line in the future. Be careful drinking that choco milk as it may clog up your insides and exits like it did the Clio😆

Very good call on the Ultrasonic cleaner. Think I'll be purchasing one in the near future for all those other gross jobs these cars have in store for me.

Once...when it was made! The crazy thing is, it used to cope really well with cooling as i've run it a lot over the years to make sure everything was still working.
