I've been silently watching your videos for a while now as I've been one of the people who used to suffer under these conditions. I was pushed to always clean at a very young age which deteriorated over time with my depression and anxiety growing and suddenly before I knew it my new apartment was in shambles and I thought I was never going to get better. I was so scared to invite anyone in and I was under the impression that I was the only one who suffered this way- I believed it when people told me I was lazy when all my brain did was shut down immediately at the thought of cleaning, as I didn't know where to start and it almost drove me to panic attacks. When I invited my cleaner for the first time for help, I cried in front of her and thought I had to apologize profusely about what I did, why everything was in shambles, but she helped me and is still helping me to this day. I watch your video to remind me that people like her and you exist, it reminds me of my situation and has made me cry and pusehd me to clean and the idea that people think this is staged... actually kind of offended me? Knowing now that others suffered this horrible fate- to think that this is staged is absurd, this real psychological problem that nobody wants to have.. just thank you Auri, you make so many peoples lives better.

Some people simply can't accept that there are those who are so kind to others, they can just go in and do what needs to be done without pomp and self-glory.

And special thanks to your fiance for being so supportive and understanding of you. Please do not mind those who say that it is staged, you are helping many people who are hoarders and with other issues as well. I am a bit of a hoarder too and I learn so much from your videos, I am inspired to do cleaning and decluttering though, not as expert as you. Thank you for your kindness, you are helping and saving lives more than you know. More success and power to your videos and hope many more will help you in your free cleaning services. And I hope James will soon recover and be whole again. Thank you so so much for all that you do! An avid viewer from the Philippines here :-)

i love that she doesn't make the entire house perfect. in one ofher videos, she answered why she doesn't clean the windows. first, she doesn't have enough time to entirely clean the houses. second, she just makes the houses liveable, not entirely hygienic. and i think that's beautiful because the cleaning she does makes the house owner/renter encouraged to keep it clean and tidy.

Hi Auri, I'm a psychologist and I've been watching your videos for a while now. It's indescribable what you're doing for people who are struggling. This story proves that sometimes we need to take that first step and ask for help - something that a lot of people find so hard to do because their head is telling them it's a sign of weakness. So showing them that no matter how bad things get they can always get better again, is truly a gift. Keep doing what you're doing! ❤️

I am extremely thankful that when he reached out, he has been so well supported by everybody, including the employer. Unfortunately I know from first hand experience what it's like to reach out and instead be abandoned and shamed. It's cruel and painful and it hurts to know that it happens to many others too. So I'm always very happy when I hear that someone got the response they should do when they reached out.

I often think people don't realise just how easy it is for a home to get this bad. For myself, I keep looking at my own mess and think "I don't have the energy today, maybe tomorrow" and then it just carries on like that for several months until it's something too overwhelming. It's a slippery slope. The common areas in my house are clean as I respect the people I share the house with and would never do that to them, so it's concentrated to my bedroom. It may not be close to as dire as some of the places in these videos, but it's not by any means good either. I often sit in my room with my curtains closed just so I don't have to look as it fills me with shame every time I see it.

Be kind to yourself - it is easy with depression to avoid doing difficult tasks, and then they pulled up and get beyond you. If you are interested in trying to change, take it in slow steps - pick one corner, or set aside one hour. Don't try to think that you are going to clean it all at once. And/or ask for help! (This is coming from someone who left their kitchen floor unwashed for three years during covid, till my boyfriend rented a floor cleaner and cleaned it for me, so, I get it.) If you think about it too much, you won't get started. One day you'll just wake up and decide, today's the day and I'm going to start.

This. This so much. Just add in my parents have hoarder tendencies and my dad gets violent when you point anything negative out to him. You have my house. My room is a dumpster because.... I just gave up trying to clean it on my own. I suffer from horrible depression and I kept putting it off too and it just got too bad that every time I try to clean, it's too much for me and I give up. I'd just love some help. The kitchen is stuff piled ontop of messes my dad leaves behind. And the living room is where my mom used to sleep and it's covered in piled high old clothes and mess. Now she has my sister's old room, which is getting cluttered.

@@awphooey2u519 oh honey. I wish I could help you. It's bad enough to experience it as an adult, but my heart really goes out to children who've grown up in it, whose parents have forms of this illness. The thing that Auri does that you can utilize is to take one little category of object, of trash, or one corner of your room, or set a 15 min timer on your phone and fill one trash bag, one laundry basket. It's a process of taking baby steps, so your brain can learn a new thing. You sorta have to claw and crawl your way to a new life, which is why her videos are so gratifying - its like watching her wave a magic wand because she's condensed 2 days of 2 people working into a 20 min vid. It's a slow process, you can totally do it too. I'm probably old enough to be your grandparent but I understand the fear of living with someone who has a volcanic temper and I'm really praying for your situation 😘

The sad part is - i'm not even sure if it needed years and years of neglect. There are parts of the apartment that feel not as "neglected" as others. I feel like it's more of a situation where the one in question tried for years to maintain at least a tiny bit of hygiene as a last stand but then something happened and the person got overwhelmed and the rest of the apartment just got worse. For example the toilet feels like it hasn't been cleaned for a really long time and has been neglected for years, as you said. But on the other hand the fridge almost felt....quite normal. As if it had been cleaned until a few months ago until something happened. The same for example for the kitchen walls that seem to have been stained over a really long time without being cared for. Similar for the workstation. The upper part is covered in dust but it's not really stained or anything. But the part below the keyboard is as if he suddenly gave up because he just didn't have his eyes on there. I also feel like he made an effort until recently (a couple months ago?) to at least keep the floor somehow clean since there are quite some trashbags on the balkony outside. (You can see them at 0:46 sitting outside) But he apparently didn't have the strength to put those bags in the trash........ Really something that feels something happened that let him spiral down quite fast and he couldn't even maintain the little bit that he had could until then. It's sad to see and i hope he feels better now.

What a blessing you are! Thank you for sharing. And most importantly thank you for helping this person (and so many others) without judging them. People like you make asking for help feel safe.

You are so inspiring. I have no problems like the people you help, but still there are things i can recognize from my past life and some even in the present. I love seeing your videos, not only cause its making me relate, but also because of the cleaning tips. We dont have scrub mummy etc here in Denmark(I think) but I still find ways to eliminate small problems like limescale, with your tips. Thank you for that. And thank you for being an amazing human being ❤️

As someone who saw their parents alcoholism heavily contribute to their deaths, the fact that James gained enough courage to ask for help and go to rehab is so monumental words cannot even describe. It made me tear up but I’m extremely happy that he saught out the help he needed but that would not have been possible without the kindness and compassion you showed him. That gave him the motivation he needed to try. Bless you for this!

I wish you were in the United States. I’ve struggled with depression all my life. I’m on meds, but they only go so far. After my father died unexpectedly and I became estranged from my older son (all in the same year), it seems my symptoms became more external with each passing year. I can’t let anyone in my house and haven’t for many years. I know how bad it is, not to mention unhealthy, but I just can’t do anything about it. It’s amazing how it seems to disappear after a while. I can’t afford an extreme cleaning service so it just goes on. Bless you for the work you do. I’m glad so many people are getting the help you provide.

There are so many studies that show how a messy/dirty home only increase a person’s anxiety and depression. These videos are so inspiring and I just know how much Auri is making an impact! 💕 love from the US

I get so excited when you turn in the cans and buy them things they need!! It’s so satisfying and saves them money. It’s also very generous of you! One of my favorite reasons I watch 😊

Only Auri could make up this word: Dirtylicious 😄 People who think these are staged, are probably the same ones who think people can "just get over it" if they're depressed, anxious, etc. They do not understand depression, and how important mental health is. You're an Angel! Thank you for brightening peoples' lives ...like a power paste! 😉💖💗💖💗💖💙💛🌻🇺🇦

Just love your videos, and never want them to end! People who think you stage these homes are either jealous of your success, or too embarrassed to admit that their fellow countrymen can live in such filth. They do not understand what depression can do to a person. But please carry on with what you do… the world needs souls like you Auri! Love you so much, for what you do and for the joy you find in doing it. ♥️

What always strikes me about your videos (apart from the obvious visual difference) is how much better the air quality must be. So much mould, rotting food and rubbish... It would be fascinating to see a medical report of the tenants before and a few weeks after the cleaning - I imagine that their overall physical health also undergoes a massive improvement, just in terms of spores and dust, allergies, lung tissue inflammation, eye and skin irritation, etc. You are an inspiration xx

Looks great. It looked like it was quite hard to do daily chores. But good thing he realized he needed help sooner rather than late. The apartment doesn’t look too bad. Almost looked abandoned more than anything. I’ve seen worse and believe me stains don’t come out as easily when neglected for years. You guys did a great job clearing it out for him.
