Wow this was SO satisfying! I felt like I was holding my breath seeing the house with all the stuff but the more you throw away the feeling relieved. I can imagine the kids having nightmares of this place. I hope the parents get mental help but even if not, like you said they will never be able to get the house as full as now in their lifetime again (or so I hope). But what a nightmare to have the hoarder there watching. The kids really should have kept he away for your and the moms own good but when you say even she seemed relieved at the end maybe it was good. We had the Donnelley Telephone Directory for our area of Pennsylvania. It had all the telephone numbers unfortunately you had to contact the telephone company to update it. In 2013 I saw my grandparents' old telephone number on it under my grandfather's name, he died in 1996, he was dead for 17 years at that time. And we called it a telephone book.

From what I understand, getting rid of all of a hoarder's possessions can be really traumatic for them. Not saying this wasn't necessary, but I am concerned that this such a different circumstance to the places that you usually clean.

I love the house that is clean is different and clean

It was difficult to watch this, and I understand there was deadline and such but I don’t know why I teared up and it hurt my heart. I think I also struggle to let go of things because my mom is a low level hoarder (mainly food) but when the mom said she ate 3 years old expired chocolate and her children reacted like it was no big deal… it’s hard. I also ate expired food growing up because my mom thought it wasn’t a big deal and develop a toxic binge style mindset towards food because of it. This was a hard video but thank you for still sharing with us. I think hoarder houses should be avoided in the future though, I prefer your cleaning videos and it’s less mentally taxing watching you clean then tackle hoarding.

Why not add things like a steam cleaner and drill brushes to your cleaning tools? Having a steamer, the type typically used by car detailers, makes very short work of grime and would have cleaned out those grooves in the tub easily. <3
