I paid 5.00 dollars for it, and it is ugly, no restoration here, just a clean-up and seeing what the handle condition is, seems to be alright but will have to use it for a while and see!

Good job fixing up that ugly beast! We've used our Estwing drilling hammer for pounding stakes into the ground, hammering wedges to split logs, etc. It's sure a handy tool for indelicate jobs.

The worst part is the sticky stuff on the handle after getting all the that's on the handle off , bought a axe for 2.00 bucks that had fabric tape over wire coat hanger on the handle topped with duct tape. What some people do to their tools I will never understand, hope you did not get a wet ass

Used carb cleaner to get the sticky off, sounds like you had fun getting your tape off sorry I am laughing because I was cussing when I was taking the tape off mine put did not show it in video!!!!!!!!!!!

DJ you're forgetting the 1st rule Duct tape can fix anything If it doesn't work You're not using enough Duct tape That hammer Looks to be More tape Then hammer

If you're gonna be using punches & chisels a 3 # drilling hammer should be in your toolbox they are much more suited for the task than ball-peens 😊

I learned something today! the weight of the hammer will mean less striking force, and the face is bigger, I like it!

It's interesting to see what people do to "fix" tools. They should have used spray on bedliner for grip instead of that tape 😂
