Logically I /know/ backyards don’t just “exist” that they have to be created. But watching this is so surreal that this is a legit job that has to be done. It’s so fun and fascinating to watch. It’s just one of those things you don’t think about having to happen.

When I was a General Contractor I would price according to the job. I did mainly remodel work, room additions, decks, plumbing, etc. For example, the costs for building a home on the beach verses building one in the mountains is drastically different.

On average, in the suburbs of cities, in the USA, a 1 acre lot is common. The size is thus due to septic tank drain field requirements. It was common for folks to buy two or three lots. When this started hot and heavy in the 70s and 80s, the lots went for $5 k to $10 k per acre, depending on where one lives of course. In some counties in NC, land can still be had for 2 to 4 k an acre while in prime areas, such as Nags Head, NC; the lots are 100 k and more for a postage stamp lot of 1/4 acre.
@trickydicky78s3
@trickydicky78s3 4 жыл бұрын
@@Rickimusic Damn, around my way here in England and im not even prime just about average, you will be doing good to get 1/4 acre for £500,000, prime areas not so far away easily 4 times that amount. Thats the difference between an island thats over populated and the US with hundreds of thousands of hectares not even touched i guess.

@@Rickimusic thanks for your reply it was very informative the average house plot in the uk would be about 30ft by 150ft and the house is 20 by 30 thats if your lucky here in the north of the UK PRICE will be 200/500k ...stay safe and well and god bless the USA

Hey there, John. We have similar weather southeast NC. Really like that forest mulcher action. Have you hit any ground bees while mulching? I was wondering how safe you are in there with those nasty kamakazis. They don't play around, buddy. Enjoyed a full-watch. Take it easy and thanks for the video.

I am honestly disappointed at that engineer who built that retention pond. Leech field, around a foundation, in a retaining wall it doesn't matter they should be wrapping a silt sock around that drain tile or those drain tiles quickly become useless all plugged up with silt. Good on you for fixing an engineers mistake.

I think you said Retention pond but i couldn't tell. Retention ponds "retain" water. Detention ponds only hold water during storms and release at a controlled rate. Generally the detention ponds here where I'm at, are designed to empty within 24-48 hours. What your working on is called a water quality pond when they have in ground drainage system. They hold water and sloooowly drain through the french drain. A water quality pond is a dumb design if you ask me and they always hold water no matter what. I wonder if the county would let you plug those two holes at the bottom of the pipe for the leach field, and core drill a new orifice where the bottom of the pond is supposed to be, dig out a micro pool, and install a check dam. You would probably have to get an engineer to draw up plans, but it would be a lot easier to do and maintain. Love the videos, I have over heard people in Augusta bring your name up so you have lots of fans around here.

Why even bring up the cost question if you’re not going to be up front and transparent. If your rates are competitive why not state them. I get it, it’s sometimes a bid proposal, but workmanship should be worth the price.
