Another wonderful video. Kudos to Jodi on a masterly job of editing. Two points: (1) While being entertaining, the video is also instructive. I would advise anyone in your area who is considering having this kind of work done to take the time and watch this. It points out the difference between doing a job and doing it right. Your customer had hired a cut-rate contractor before hiring you to set things right. Hire a cut-rate contractor and you get a cut-rate job. You get what you pay for. You use a secret ingredient called Quality, which is doing a job with care. (2) I noticed from the past few jobs that your Bobcat spends a lot of time in repairs. Cm’on John, next time spend the extra money and get a Cat. That Bobcat sounds as if it’s falling apart. The clanking noise is so noticeable. Can’t wait for Part Two. The

I'm surprised, (slightly), at the sizes of the trunks that you shred. Here in the UK anything over 2 to 3" dia. we chip, even the whole tree sometimes. It is a very good seller to keen gardeners, and even parks buy it off us for 'mulching', - I suppose its a case of we just haven't got enough trees to 'fell' each year to keep up with demand. Very interesting Video.

What is the max diameter that your mulcher/cutter can handle? That thing is a beast.
@as35644 жыл бұрын
That was a seriously good vid. What's the gauge on top of the mulcher for?
@UpstateBrushControl4 жыл бұрын
It's a pressure gauge to know if you are pushing ahead too far.

nice one again, i dont remember the felcon having such a work out like this job, hard wood? or the teeth a little dull maybe? you always have done several passes making sure you chip up a job well but seemed you had to work that much harder on this one Getting it done any way nice one again

The mulcher is an amazing piece of machinery.. How big a tree can it take down?
@UpstateBrushControl4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the species of the tree. I probably wouldn't go bigger than 12" on most species.
@josephmckenzie47444 жыл бұрын
You know everyone has an opinion, I think the 12 inch pipe under the driveway should be replaced with maybe 16 inch pipe,the driveway should have a One or Two inch rise,a little bump,so the water from the road stays on the road, the Berm,on the owners side of the road should be built up a little more. Why would you want any water to run toward the house.

How many hours are you averaging out of the teeth on the mulcher? Are you still running knives? Have you tried carbide?
@UpstateBrushControl4 жыл бұрын
100-120 hours. We don't use carbide, way too slow.
When is your new ASV arriving? What hrs do you normally trade at? Just curious...

I'm not planning on trading this machine in. I'll keep her till she dies.

Suggestion: Changing the camera location more often might be an improvement. A slight burden but it may be worth it.

How long did it take you in the beginning to know how big a tree you could just drive into and the falcon could handle it you must have been a little gun shy at first great job will be watching for pPart 2

When people pick the cheepest quote they get cheep work. I retired as every quote i done some cheeper one who knew not what they were doing got the job. After it got screwed up they asked me to redo the job for the first quote. When it now cost more to fix the new problems caused by the last builder.screw it i retired

The thing that you started deconstructing at the beginning of the video was a poor attempt of a "french drain" typically the rocks are covered with landscape felt and buried well below ground level.

Yes, I'm aware of that.

Why don’t you use a chipper?
@raymondrussell5004 жыл бұрын
J W , what do you think the Feccon does?
@DanKoning7774 жыл бұрын
I agree JW; they'd be better off with a designated chipper [even at another location], to get rid of all the trees/stumps they generate instead of putting all the hrs on the ASV, and Fecon, not to mention the time. Wood chips can also be sold, and they have the truck capabilities of hauling logs as well. Andrew Camarata [YT channel], hauls all of his logs; sometimes for timber which can yield good $$$. Either way it's much better than hrs/hrs of back and forth while eating up your equipment. jmo.
