I can't express how thankful our area is for all the help. That being said, Please do not send clothes folks, we have thousands of pounds of clothes. Things right now needed are carbon monoxide detectors, gas, heaters, cleaning supplies, dehumidifiers, and such. If anyone wants to help we are taking donations to help pur community. The money will go towards fuel, food, cleanup, and repair for our local Bakersville community. Thank you VERY MUCH for your thoughts during this hard time. Coree, your narration and script were so informative. Aaron, I loved seeing the Kibota. So there is a usage of sorts for the sludge - shoring up roads that are partially washed out. As I recall from Mississippi and Nile River education, these rivers, in their flooding, provided the silt, which was great for crops. But nature doesn't realize that our fossil fuel use has contaminated the sludge. 😢 Thank the heavens that the Appalachian and surrounding areas are filled with new pioneers such as yourselves to work together, untangling this mess. Bless you all.

If cleaning any muck everyone should be wearing PPE gear and respirators. The silicates and toxic dust, as well as the silt is very toxic from many reports. Be sure to take water samples also, and test at independent labs. Be careful. Thanks for helping each other.

Think about the amount of sewage, gas products from gas stations, and all the chemicals from factories, I mean every bad thing that people store in safe places because it is hazardous. Now take all that bad stuff and dump it all in the river at the same time and mix it up with the mud. The mud holds the nasty stuff, and it is still there when the water goes back down.
