Thanks. I hope it is helpful. I do thinks Staxrip, for a free program, is a great find.

What do you use to capture the tapes? I have 8mm tapes running over S-Video into my GVUSB2 Capture card.

I am not familiar with that card. It must have had some program recommended with it when you bought it?

I can't seem to get past the 'opening source clip' stage. I get a 'App not found' error message on every app yet I have ffmpeg installed but it won't leyt me edit the path!

Using the latest version of Staxrip it coms with things like FFMPEG included so I don't have to fiddle with this any more. What codec of clip are you trying to open? And I assume you mean you have issues with Staxrip.

@@dvcltd Yes the latest version of StaxRip and mpg file (SD 4:3 PAL interlaced). It kept popping up with a big list of 'apps not found'

Very informative. Staxrip looks daunting with way too many WTF settings, so I will be copying your template. Many Thanks.

I have not used a huge amount of it but I have played a lot with the deinterlacing.

Resolve now has a “Frame Replace” feature that allows you to easily replace a glitchy frame with a copy of a surrounding one. Or it will create a new frame that is interpolated from the surrounding ones. Very useful.

neat is the king of reducing noise and stax looks to be the king at deinterlacing but doesnt look like a big jump from the highest setting of davi

i need help ill be using neat to reduce heavy grain in wonder years but i need to do color correction to but the vids i seen are only of a single shot how can i use that for mutiple scene changes
@jef.herrmann9 ай бұрын
You will set Neat for one shot, if the other clips are similar you copy paste the effect, alternatively it will be one shot at a time.

@@patsipes6561 My wife's been waiting 15 years to see the HDV of our Wedding ceremony. I keep telling her I will do it "soon". Now where did I hear that before?🧐

@@patsipes6561 Its a 6 episode story and we have so far only made 3 of them - over the last 4 years. So not really rushing :-)
